Ginge I recommend reading my longass guide on sound deadening. I did a lot of research into deadening and have sort of worked a best of both worlds way.

to be honest - from what i've read, it's pointless sound deadening the floor as it's think as it is - as the sub is going to be pounding the fllor mainly.

So i'd probably just do the doors... how much would that need? and cost? see what dollar i've got at the moemnt

Re: Audio Budget - What to get?? - ginge191 - 24-04-2012

@ Niall, that amp you suggest on fleebay is gone.

Tell you what, give me a few weeks to get some cash in the bank - i'll chuck the cash to you and leave it to you to shop for a friend? Smile

I'll get the sub and components.

Re: Audio Budget - What to get?? - devils_fuel - 24-04-2012

Re: Audio Budget - What to get?? - devils_fuel - 24-04-2012

Re: Audio Budget - What to get?? - ginge191 - 24-04-2012

Hm is only 250w rms - not enough for me Smile

Re: Audio Budget - What to get?? - ginge191 - 24-04-2012

how about... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ALPINE-PMX-T3 ... 27c581a221 ??

full spec here - http://homeavdirect.co.uk/alpine-pmx-t3 ... -amplifier

Re: Audio Budget - What to get?? - Niall - 24-04-2012

Ginge avoid mutant like the plague!

Let me know when you have some money and I will find you something.

Re: Audio Budget - What to get?? - ginge191 - 24-04-2012

Also found this one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Kenwood-Mono- ... 2ebd93e97e

specs here - http://homeavdirect.co.uk/kenwood-kac-8 ... -amplifier

matches the sub quite nicely i feel??

Re: Audio Budget - What to get?? - Grant - 24-04-2012

But you would benefit from a 4 Chanel in your setup ginge. You can only amp the sub with a mono block, and the sub your looking at doesn't warrant the power from a dedicated amp...

Grant Wrote:But you would benefit from a 4 Chanel in your setup ginge. You can only amp the sub with a mono block, and the sub your looking at doesn't warrant the power from a dedicated amp...

so i can i amp my components as well as having a crossover with them??

But ok, i'm going to chuck some money at niall once i've bought the components and sub - let him work his magic.

Re: Audio Budget - What to get?? - Grant - 24-04-2012

The crossover only filters the audio signal going into the speakers. It separates the low and high notes, to put it in its simplest form, and distributes it to the corresponding speakers. Either the main cone or the tweeters. Do not confuse crossovers with amps. Unless your bi amping your components, but that's a completely different ball game out of your budget.

Get a decent 4 Chanel amp, bridge 2 of the channels for the sub, and use the other two to drive the front speakers.

Then at a later date consider getting a mono block for the sub, and running all speakers amped. But for now, 4 channel! Lol

Re: Audio Budget - What to get?? - ginge191 - 24-04-2012

Right, i hope Niall has read that ^^^^ Big Grin

Agreed, a good route so you can expand your system when required Smile. a good 4 channel amp of 100w rms per channel would be nice Smile

That mutant amp near me is 4 channel also, with 2 bridge option!

Re: Audio Budget - What to get?? - Niall - 11-05-2012

Mainly want the amp for the sub, IF there is an amp, which would sufficiently power the speakers as well, within the price range, then yeh.

But primarily for the sub

Re: Audio Budget - What to get?? - Niall - 11-05-2012

If its just for the sub, I've got one of these in the shed you can have for 50 quid and a quick reach around?

Completely forgot I had it!
