Yup, that's the plan! Big Grin

This has had S16 seats and a few other little bits fitted recently. Next up is the washer bottle and fatty boi FMIC.

can you not hide any of the wiring?

Don't really see the point, it's only a bit of fun / dieselturboracecaryo.

More hassle then it's worth. Tongue

Got the old bird MOT'd yesterday.

Currently running 25 PSI on the GT2052S and 11mm. Doesn't feel all that quick. Maybe that's just because I'm used to 270 bhp... Confused

Or it needs fettling, more likely this to be fair, haven't touched any boost/fuel settings yet...

But seriously. It feels slow...

As for the clutch, randomly it goes tight and then if you play with it, it will free up. Very strange... Was slipping all way to MOT then adjusted it there and seems fine now.

Lol!! When I've fiddled with it and got it running nicely! Big Grin

Probably wont feel that quick next to the Datsun, it is a petrol turbo.

I jump out of a NAD Berlingo or an 85ps Transit into mine, probably why it feels so fast.  lol

Mmm, true that.

Still, I remember my 9mm + T25 being quite pokey...

This feels slower then what I remember..!

Also saying that, unless it pushs you into your chair aggresively then it isn't fast. Tongue  This doesn't do that at the moment..!

RE: Phase 1 Black 306 DTurbo - Road Test! (GT2052S, 11mm, FMIC) - silverzx - 14-03-2015

Fish popped about yesterday for a looksie and agrees somethings not quite right.

My T25/9mm felt punchier then this shit.

Either a subtle boost leak somewhere (all pipes appear to be legit) or turbo's leaking.

Either way it's hitting 25~27 PSI on a GT2052S and Lobb 11mm and doesn't fill very quick at the mo.

Bet you've burst a pipe or it's leaking if the boost levels are high but it still feels lethargic...

Turbo is managing to compensate for the air leak, mind, you'll be overspeeding the tits off of it! But when it tries to move loads of air at low RPM it just can't fill the pipework fast enough.

Can't imagine it being much else. Will replace the shitty rubber hose for hard pipe and try again!

It's 'lively'...just not 'that lively'

Drives nice for an old nail. Tongue

Sort the exhaust out then take a trip down over the Tamar to Diesel Tuning Terrority

I can't remember who it was, possibly Anton? But his dyno'd at around 150 odd HP IIRC on a 2052s.. so it's not going to feel THAT quick, especially if you're used to the 200 lol.

RE: Phase 1 Black 306 DTurbo - Road Test! (GT2052S, 11mm, FMIC) - bashbarnard - 18-03-2015

I'm aiming for 170 bhp out of my 2.1 with this turbo. Gotta be doable.

Mist be a boost leak.

RE: Phase 1 Black 306 DTurbo - Road Test! (GT2052S, 11mm, FMIC) - silverzx - 19-03-2015

Looks like the brand new GT2259V will have to go on sooner rather than later then.. Big Grin

150 bhp isn't worth my time.

RE: Phase 1 Black 306 DTurbo - Road Test! (GT2052S, 11mm, FMIC) - Anton - 19-03-2015

Set up well it should be an easy 150-160bhp... Its not a big turbo.
Its seriously low spooling, I was hitting 25psi by just over 2k. Probably running out of puff by 4-4.5k though.
It never feels massively fast due to the monstrous wedge of torque you get low down. I was doing 30-70 in under 7 seconds.

That sounds what i want. I'm aiming for a fast daily driver. Sounds awesome. May have to couple with an 11mm though.

Would you consider selling the gt20 if you need more than 150bhp ? It would be ideal for me being bolt on

Sorry for the thread hijack but where do you get the vband from to connect to down pipe and what size? Mine measures across 9.2cm
