Im gonna say 2200/2500 rpm so its not 'laggy' as such it is.off a petrol though so has a larger hotside which helps it keep pulling round if.u know what I mean.
Im pretty impressed and id estimate 150/60 bhp so around stage 2 hdi power.

Haha fair, ok cool, cheers. Just interested as i've got a 1749 off a DCi and thinking it might be a bit small on the hotside... Sod it, suck it and see eh!

RE: Jimbos Gt17 ph3 Xud - Jimbo - 22-03-2014

She will certainly spool up well id imagine, run out of puff early though. Good in a compound setup though Wink

RE: JIMBOS ph3 moonstone Hdi to Xud project - Jimbo - 21-04-2014

So this old beast is still going ok a few thousand miles later. However have a few issues that really need sorting so hopefully some time over next.couple weeks will remove engine again.

Oil leak (think from high pressure turbo feed)
Headgasket/head lift issues (only when fuel/boost is up high Wink
Rev counter (gonna change flywheel) have.checked everything else
Fit arp headstuds
Sort slight exhaust leak on turbo somehwere

Then it's mot time so get a new windscreen and fit my home refurbed axle

Fully stripped greased rebuilt with all new seals etc. Gti bars and arb

Also have tinted the top half of my rear lights slightly
Opinions welcome on these but.i think they look ok

Cheers mate, i knew the xud would make you smile Wink

And piggy, its just some etech tint spray off ebay

I masked the bottom half up and just gave the top half a light coat, i think its easy to over do tinting too much looks crap IMO.

RE: JIMBOS ph3 moonstone Hdi to Xud project - mr_fish - 22-04-2014

I think you should lighten the wheel colour up a bit...

Else it's all looking rather well...seeing as it's a moonshine Big Grin

Keen to pull the engine again!?

Keep thinking about wheel colour but can't make mind up, would be a shame to change from black being the factory finish is really nice plus there a bitch to clean.

Not that keen but is gotta be done so crack on i guess, i cant see me putting this much effort into anything again is a mission hahaha

RE: JIMBOS ph3 moonstone Hdi to Xud project - Jimbo - 03-05-2014

Picked up my new wheels the other night really happy with the.condition and finish on paint, paid 100 quid with four maxxis victra ma-z1 tyres one track day old so like new. Will get pics when there on later hopefully.

RE: JIMBOS ph3 XUD *more wheels :/ * - Jimbo - 22-06-2014

This happened! Not a bad result would have maybe been a.bit.better if i had a rev counter though.
Car is also being broken for parts now. Mot and tax is up,it needs a windscreen and i just cant see that its.worth doing so i have bought a ph1 to play with Wink
