RE: Puglove's onxy 'state, New clutch - rd070707 - 24-07-2013

So all sorted now? seems like I have a rattly bearing now too so will be doing this job shortly

RE: Puglove's onxy 'state, New clutch - Piggy - 25-07-2013

That LUK clutch looks quite worn to me!

Well done though chap...you are no longer a clutch virgin, congratulations!

RE: Puglove's onxy 'state, New clutch - puglove - 25-07-2013

AAHHH think I could well be in need of a gearbox and it wasn't the clutch atall!! f*cking hdi's!!

RE: Puglove's onxy 'state, New clutch - Midnightclub - 25-07-2013

Just whack your spare DT box on it if you've still got it? just swap the bits from the HDi box?

RE: Puglove's onxy 'state, New clutch - Mrs puglove - 25-07-2013

Aint got a spare apart from on Ryans old car.

RE: Puglove's onxy 'state, New clutch - Piggy - 25-07-2013

I got a DT box here!! you can have it for free if you come get it!

RE: Puglove's onxy 'state, New clutch - rd070707 - 25-07-2013

shit one dude! makes me think twice about just whacking a clutch in mine as the box seems a bit notchy atm too

RE: Puglove's onxy 'state, New clutch - puglove - 25-07-2013

Gearbox needed the Sad had to take it out again and roll the car back

BECAUSElightweightracestate?

RE: Puglove's onxy 'state, New clutch - Grant - 25-07-2013

Nice chain in there! That's something else. Any you've saved weight. See, the pros are adding up!

RE: Puglove's onxy 'state, Its Alive mwhaha .......kinda - puglove - 03-08-2013

Well its back together and running, clutch is a lot better......... But its still howling like f*ck, so that rules the clutch & box out, gota be a wheel bearing right? but it spins fine and cant seem to feel any play in it??? is this even possible

well any way as I stupidly thought it was all going to run fin it it was going to be happy days, I treated the state to coilies, clones & pressed plates

RE: Puglove's onxy 'state, Its Alive mwhaha .......kinda - Piggy - 03-08-2013

still howling?
so when you driving it doesnt change when you pop it in neutral?!

RE: Puglove's onxy 'state, Its Alive mwhaha .......kinda - Matt - 03-08-2013

Sad prefer the old wheels. Looked awesome! But loving the new lows!

don't know havnt tried it but it still howls with the clutch in

I cant fit the 17's with the coilies on as they rub the spring seats even with the 20mm spacers

RE: Puglove's onxy 'state, Its Alive mwhaha .......kinda - ozonehostile - 03-08-2013

Ooh I like it. Agree with matt though, needs something more exotic than clones

RE: Puglove's onxy 'state, Its Alive mwhaha .......kinda - Matt - 03-08-2013

Soooo 30mm spacers? Tongue

RE: Puglove's onxy 'state, Its Alive mwhaha .......kinda - sam - 03-08-2013

Jack the car up spin the wheel and hold the spring at the same time if it vibrates possible wheel bearing or could be drive shaft as mine was humming before it went

What Tyre size? I have 205/40s they don't rub.

RE: Puglove's onxy 'state, Its Alive mwhaha .......kinda - Piggy - 04-08-2013

this howling...did it start when you changed the rear beam, or was it already there??

defo need to do sumit exciting with the clones...looks a bit boring

RE: Puglove's onxy 'state, Its Alive mwhaha .......kinda - puglove - 04-08-2013

no it was fine for a while James then all of a sudden it started and gt worse quickly.. sounds like front passenger side. what were you thinking?

It might well be shaft sam.. did yours get worse fast? within a few miles?

yes kent 205s coilie right down

RE: Puglove's onxy 'state, Its Alive mwhaha .......kinda - Toms306 - 04-08-2013

I much prefer it on the 'clones tbh!

As for howling, yes bearings can go without any 'feelable' play, both became really loud on my estate but couldn't find any issues with the wheels jacked up....

RE: Puglove's onxy 'state, Its Alive mwhaha .......kinda - puglove - 04-08-2013

cheers Tomm i think so too Big Grin

going to grab a hub & shaft later see if that works

RE: Puglove's onxy 'state, Its Alive mwhaha .......kinda - Piggy - 04-08-2013

try driving it, engine off, gets rids of a lot of noise, should be able to pinpoint it then.
give it a spin up on stands...should be able to hear it

Yeah hummed while driving but as soon as you put your foot down the huming got alot louder then started banging

RE: Puglove's onxy 'state, Its Alive mwhaha .......kinda - rd070707 - 04-08-2013

Please put the minilites on it, it would be so much win

RE: Puglove's onxy 'state, Its Alive mwhaha .......kinda - Piggy - 04-08-2013

you should get a knocking with driveshaft. they are rare to hum/whine

RE: Puglove's onxy 'state, Its Alive mwhaha .......kinda - puglove - 04-08-2013

turns out it was the wheel bearing. got it off, still no noticeable play spins freely, tiny bit of grease around it, really odd, swapped for a spare hub and its stopped now so it must have been that,

but now the ABS light is on! ffs this car really doesn't like me!!!!!!

feel free to donate the mini lites RD, Big Grin , would love them for this but bank manager says no Sad
