Yeah, the paint is heavy, but it's lighter than any other non slip solution. Plus it's nice and simple.

RE: Carl and Jonny's XUD Hillclimber - samass - 27-09-2013

Even lighter then grip tape?

Probably, it's certainly cheaper!

Furry nuffin, alternatively you could have got some places, mind in some sand and stuck that down Tongue

Sigh. *muff *pva *mix

RE: Carl and Jonny's XUD Hillclimber - callumcull - 27-09-2013

Guys this looks epic, want so much!

RE: Carl and Jonny's XUD Hillclimber - Dum-Dum - 27-09-2013

Looking really good guys, great solution with the paint, take it it dries matte too?

Will be interesting to know how much paint you use in the end.

RE: Carl and Jonny's XUD Hillclimber - Dean - 30-09-2013

Would love to strip a 306 down to bare minimum. How much did all the sound deadening and underseal weigh?

RE: Carl and Jonny's XUD Hillclimber - Poodle - 01-10-2013

I think that's a question for dum-dum lol.

RE: Carl and Jonny's XUD Hillclimber - Jonny81191 - 01-10-2013

In all honesty, no idea! A fair bit, at a guess maybe 20 kg?

RE: Carl and Jonny's XUD Hillclimber - WiNgNuTz - 01-10-2013

You mean you didnt weigh all the dust?! lmao

RE: Carl and Jonny's XUD Hillclimber - Jonny81191 - 01-10-2013

Think this project is due an update.

The shell went on the perilous journey once again from Jonny's to mine.

[attachment=12792]

Next up, was to get it back to a rolling shell.

Started out the rear, with a re-built beam. If ever there was an advertisement to use a dummy shock, this is it. Ever so slight mis-calculation lol

[attachment=12793]

[attachment=12794]

[attachment=12795]

It is pretty cramped, but managed to fit it into the garage at mine. If anything major needs doing, we can just wheel it all like a wheel barrow and work away Smile

[attachment=12796]

Subframe is nearly there. Got some Avo's to go on it, hubs are pretty much sorted and then some droplinks are needed.

Feels much to better to be putting shiny bits on at long last!

RE: Carl and Jonny's XUD Hillclimber - Dum-Dum - 16-01-2014

Good progress dude. Would love to completely strip then actually rebuild a 306.

why not dum dum? some of the metro owners, in the metro owners club, are rebuilding metros now. been a few made for track and sprint cars.
all you need do is to take your time, and don't rush!

RE: Carl and Jonny's XUD Hillclimber - Dum-Dum - 17-01-2014

Its more money thats stopping me TBH, I have the time but need to do my bike licence (and C1/D1 but hopefully work are gonna pay for that)

RE: Carl and Jonny's XUD Hillclimber - Lwilliams - 17-01-2014

Nice to see you cleared out the garage guys Wink lol

Carl and Jonny's XUD Hillclimber - devils_fuel - 21-03-2014

How's this going Jonny/Carl?

RE: Carl and Jonny's XUD Hillclimber - c.gerrard - 24-03-2014

Cold, wet, depressing winter sucked my motivation tbh.

I'm having issues getting to the coilovers back together, so that's why it's not a rolling shell yet unfortunately.

Just need it to be summer and smell the burning rubber at a few shows to give me a kick up the backside!

Carl and Jonny's XUD Hillclimber - devils_fuel - 24-03-2014
