Na dog, this is 500Amp cable. The dogs danglies of battery relocation.

I've found a bolt big enough to join the existing terminal connector to my O ring spade, just need to find a nut for it, or a jubilee clip to go around it..

"Get yerrrr pikey on sonnnn!"

Fitted the 3" cold air feed, what a bloody ball ache! Got there in the end though. Looks like it's gonna get squished when bonnets closed but what else can I do!

Also fitted the cambelt cover, did some bits and bobs.

Not a lot left now, just the exhaust as far as MoT is concerned.. Still need to figure out how I'm joining my battery cables and shiz.

You done well to get 3" pipping fitted tbh. I had 70mm and that was fair tight especially between the inlet and brake servo.

This is what I got to join the battery live wire under the bonnet

If you want a cheap/free/pikey/blacksmith fix get some copper pipe. Hammer it onto the cable and if you want to bolt it to something hammer the rest of it flat and drill a hole in it. Works ok on a 350 amp 3 phase welder so should be up to the job lol

Thanks for the kind words but it gets squashed, considerably. If I had an original (non Xantia) inlet it would fit a bit better, but wouldn't help with squash.

Something like that could work, but seems like a lot of money for what a bit of yoghurt pot and tape could do. Also mines 75mm2 that says 25mm2 MAX. Looks smart, but seems pricey...? Angel

Pic's or it didn't happen.. Big Grin

Might do that tbf. Copper "plummers" joins come in the ideal size... Big Grin What I used to "pikey" joining my heater matrix pipes back in the day..

Yeah I did think it was a bit dear but couldn't find anything else. At the end if the day if it does the job I don't mind paying the money

Phase 1 Black 306 DTurbo - Reborn (GT2052S) - silverzx - 12-11-2014

Fair enough, my mantra is keep low value cars low cost cars. Every £1 makes a difference so to speak (unless it holds value like a turbo, FMIC kit, gauges etc which I don't mind splashing out on).

In other news... Gauges are going in!

Oil pressure sat at 80 straight away, is this right...? Or have i muddled it up with my oil temp sensor? Tongue

Phase 1 Black 306 DTurbo - Reborn (GT2052S) - silverzx - 20-11-2014

She runs, clutch slips nicely as soon as you give it the boot so guess that needs to be bedded in.. Still managed to pop a boost pipe though, ah the joys of an Xud!

Also changed my air filter route which isn't quite finished, eventually it'll end up behind the passenger headlight!

Ignore the "once-red" bonnet, I just used it to see if ripping the TMIC lining out makes any difference. Plus thinking I'll paint this spare bonnet a very laity fluorescent colour, pink, green, yellow or something.

Also need to buy a different fitting for my boost gauge as this current hard pipe style one is fail!

Outstanding issues/jobs are...

MOT:
- no exhaust (downpipe is finished)
- hand brake cables looking worn

Essential:
- dodgy bonnet catch
- gauges taken from permanent live, change to ignition or fit switch

Desired:
- passenger window doesn't work
- boost gauge needs 1/2 NPT barb adapter
- air filter needs adjustment with added 3" alu
- gti6 brakes fitting
- battery relocation needs finishing
- grind stop switch on pump back for throttle clearance
- fit strut brace

WANTED:
- gti6 door cards
- drivers gti6 seat

Getton!

Turbo is fairly vocal. Bets its loud straight out the blower.

When its roadworthy (legally) I'll pop up for a ride up the gorge.

Nice!

Quite like the red bonnet! Make it matt red with a matt red roof....maaaad!

Clutch shouldnt need bedding in!?

Cheers Mark. You helped make it possible many a times my friend! You are entitled to unlimited rides (in the drivers seat).

Errrrr.. No man..

Matt red and black phase 1 doesn't do it for me! Angel

It's a brand new Valeo, so that shouldn't slip at all and should bite from the first mile?

RE: Phase 1 Black 306 DTurbo - Road Test! (GT2052S, 11mm, FMIC) - Frosty - 20-11-2014

Getting there now mate. As for your clutch slipping i would say drive sensible for a bit as there may be surface rust on the flywheel as its been stood for a bit and give it a bit of time to bed in as such

Black PH1 FTW.
Looking good dude.

Don't no how I missed this man lol any way first class work right there well done wats next :-)

RE: Phase 1 Black 306 DTurbo - Road Test! (GT2052S, 11mm, FMIC) - Piggy - 22-11-2014

Ahhh I thought it was a paddle clutch, no doubt the valeo cant cope with the torque tbh

Phase 1 Black 306 DTurbo - Road Test! (GT2052S, 11mm, FMIC) - Frosty - 22-11-2014

The valeo should be able to hold a fair bit of torque tbh

RE: Phase 1 Black 306 DTurbo - Road Test! (GT2052S, 11mm, FMIC) - Danny Wideboy - 23-11-2014

So you have a brand new Valeo kit in there dude? Pressure plate and friction?
I have the same issue as you, with the same turbo, so if you have problems with a new one it is not worth me buying another new standard clutch.
Been turning fuel down to stop it but it's hideous knowing it goes so much quicker when it's turned up.
Looks like paddle clutch time.

RE: Phase 1 Black 306 DTurbo - Road Test! (GT2052S, 11mm, FMIC) - ash23 - 23-11-2014

stick a paddle in there. does yours start slipping between 2800-3200? that seams to be were peak tourqe is on mine any way just rapes the clutch. i fine if I drive very sensible for a while it will bed back in right up untill i have a spirited drive it slips again Sad although it doesn't really bother me that much.

RE: Phase 1 Black 306 DTurbo - Road Test! (GT2052S, 11mm, FMIC) - zx_volcane - 23-11-2014

You haven't got any contaminants on the clutch have you, oil or whatever causing it to slip?

Mind you saying that, soon as I fitted a gt2052 it raped the clutch but that wasn't a new one

Cheers, hopefully it'll do! Need a paddle otherwise!

Cheers Pad, have a few turb's lying around begging to be fitted!

Hopefully won't need a paddle, probably will one way or another with future plans taken into account.. Sad

Its almost the end of the week.

You promised more updates.

Didn't even see that ! Itwasntme

So basically took it for a blip, clutch spins more or less all the time if at more than 30% throttle. Doh! Guess it could need bedding in slightly as it's done 0 miles!

Got some bits to help Darren's car live on:

Fitted barb adapter to the Auto Meter gauge:

Also tidied up my gauges tonight. Tidy.

Got oil temp, oil pres, EGT, boost:

I need quite a few random little bits for this to make it mint.

Have a cheeky back box coming off the Fish Miester so an exhaust will be fabricated soon enough.

I would give the clutch a try I have a brand new Valeo in my and its holding fairly well at the mo you saw how well she pulled out the car park
At exmouth other day ?

RE: Phase 1 Black 306 DTurbo - Road Test! (GT2052S, 11mm, FMIC) - mr_fish - 05-12-2014

Trent just needs to purchase a welder, bodge an exhaust together and get it mot'd so he can drive it a few miles.

RE: Phase 1 Black 306 DTurbo - Road Test! (GT2052S, 11mm, FMIC) - silverzx - 12-01-2015

Been lazy with this over Xmas.

Have bodged my standard exhaust to the GT2052S downpipe, just needs a bit of welding.

Also fitted S16 seats and have ordered a new wing as Father drove into my wing with a tractor...

Pfft. Datsuns been soaking my time and efforts.

Got a new job local now and looks like I'll be living in a Caravan next to my work shop soon so will have much more time for cars.

205 will be MOT'd and sold, punto repaired and sold.

Leaving the Datsun and 306...

This has had S16 seats and a few other little bits fitted recently. Next up is the washer bottle and fatty boi FMIC.
