That's exactly my opinion on them! I love the wheels but not keen on the caps!
Gonna struggle to find replacements tho tbh!

RE: oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - Matt - 13-11-2012

They look so good in silver. They look similar to ford wheels. Could be worth seeing if the centre cap is the same?

RE: oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - Oil-burner - 13-11-2012

So we finally have a fan of my wheels!!! Lol

Cheers Matt

I thought that, the focus ST has similar caps but not sure if they'd fit
Plus I'd want to keep the pug badges!

My other option is to fill them with fibreglass then flat them back off!

Like these. But looking at them they look to big

RE: oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - puglove - 13-11-2012

Its the outer ring on the cap that spoils them. Pop the pug badge out . Mod them then stick the badge back on

Sprigot is smaller on ford so cap wont straight fit. Could be modded to fit. A lil cut n chop

RE: oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - Oil-burner - 13-11-2012

@matt don't forget they are 15"

Like I said that looks like my only option puglove, I'm spraying the lion graphite soon anyway so may have a look!

RE: oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - Matt - 13-11-2012

Get a spare and hack away.

RE: oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - Oil-burner - 13-11-2012

That's the only problem, they are a bitch to replace!
I'm goin to pug on Thursday topick up a few bits ill see how much

RE: oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - puglove - 13-11-2012

Go down the scrapper and have a look and a few test fits

RE: oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - Matt - 13-11-2012

This is what I was thinking, scrap yard!
Pug will be absolute ra*e for that!

RE: oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - Oil-burner - 13-11-2012

I'm at the scrappy tomorrow so I'll have a look!
Like I say tho I do want to keep the pug lions to keep it lookin OEM.
I'll see if I can find a spare cap to play with on eBay.

RE: oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - Matt - 13-11-2012

Hack the ring out and fibreglass it nice and smooth Smile

RE: oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - Oil-burner - 13-11-2012

All I'd do is take them off, key them up from inside, fill it with fibreglass and matting then cut the coned bit off! I know I can do it, piece of piss but just worried they won't be strong enough!

oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - Matt - 13-11-2012

I'm sure that would be alright. If not use some insane fibreglass lol

RE: oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - puglove - 13-11-2012

They sell those plasticy lion badges on ebay so you could put them on any center cap you like.

There are cheaper smaller ones but for example http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=270879200294

RE: oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - Oil-burner - 13-11-2012

Insane fibreglass, Care to elaberate? Lol
Should be alright I guess!

RE: oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - Oil-burner - 13-01-2013

Right not really posted in here for a while, not much has happened in the way of mods (or washing if you could see the state of it!) But I have been on ebay and bought a few things

Item 1 4x 37k 076 injectors, sick of mine ticking so thought id splash out.

Item 2 a nice shiny twin pass fmic! (Pick up tomorrow, cant wait!)

Item 3 a new crankshaft pulley (mine is fubar)

Item 4 ... na not really the mrs wont let me buy any more atm! Sad

So the list now remains at

To buy
New duraterm glowplugs
Powerflex wishbone kit
Powerflex bottom engine mount
Boost gauge
406 inlet elbow
C5 bottom pipe
Random other bits of pipework I can mash together
New berlingo clutch

To do
De coke inlet manifold
Solid rear beam mounts
Possibly colour code spoiler??
Get smooth bonnet painted up
Fit fmic
Refurb the aidels
Smooth centre caps
Get dent man to fix the 2 new dents in my wings (thanks to a day at alton towers!)
Maybe swap stainless for standard exhaust
Stage 2 the motherfecker!!!

Hopefully a good part of the list will be done by fcs 13 but we'll see!

RE: oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - Matt - 14-01-2013

Plus Samass is selling the wishbone bushes I sold him a while back Smile

All brand new stuff Smile

RE: oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - samass - 14-01-2013

Powerflex lower engine mounts are win! Had one on Irene, very solid, with little vibration on idle.

oh and my bushes might be sold to Sean, just gotta hear back.

Thanks for the plug tho Matt lol

Yeah ive heard good things about them, mine is about shagged so thought I may aswell do it properly.

Which ones are they sam front or back? Believe its the rear ones that are expensive at about £70 but ive seen the pack of 4 (2x front and back) on rude racing for bout £100 so may go that route.

RE: oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - samass - 14-01-2013

I've only.got the front ones, the backs are crazy pricey, that set for a ton all in a steal tho! Extra castor with the powerflex rears too /eddoooooooooowwwwwwwwwww

Yeah, say 130 for bottom engine mount and front and back wishbone bushes isnt too bad when you look at spending £30 a corner on new bones

RE: oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - samass - 14-01-2013

Exactly man. Then you just the arse of getting the old bushes out lol
