RE: 205 DTI - Paul_13 - 27-05-2016 Got another week before I'm in work so might rebuild it RE: 205 DTI - Paul_13 - 27-05-2016 ![]() RE: 205 DTI - Paul_13 - 28-05-2016 Got the Rev counter working ![]() Only Boosting 25ish psi, might have put the mbc on the wrong way Need to turn the fuel down its a bit smokey RE: 205 DTI - Piggy - 28-05-2016 Need to increase the boost... Never turn fuel down ![]() RE: 205 DTI - Paul_13 - 28-05-2016 Wastegate issues... Or the mbc I don't want to turn the fuel down but it's nearly undriveable because the boost isn't there Can find any boost leaks but I bet it's the elbow off the turbo which is the most difficult to get to RE: 205 DTI - Piggy - 28-05-2016 ....fits laggy td04... Complains about coal and lagg ![]() RE: 205 DTI - Paul_13 - 28-05-2016 I honestly think it's a bit of getting used to after driving my hdi! By the way I'll have that head back to you soon, planning on doing the head gasket on the hdi tomorrow RE: 205 DTI - Piggy - 28-05-2016 No rush at all pal ![]() RE: 205 DTI - Paul_13 - 29-05-2016 Now Boosting 2 bar + ish ![]() RE: 205 DTI - Danny Wideboy - 29-05-2016 Wicked. I had can see this thing shifting. TD04 is a good turbo for these engines IMO. Yeah there are faster spooling turbos but the TD04 gives a lot of top end push and I really liked mine. So much so I am getting another one for my zx estate. RE: 205 DTI - welshpug - 29-05-2016 depends which td04, theres loads of different types RE: 205 DTI - Danny Wideboy - 29-05-2016 (29-05-2016, 07:06 PM)welshpug Wrote: depends which td04, theres loads of different types Yawn. You say that every time somebody mentions a TD04. RE: 205 DTI - welshpug - 29-05-2016 because its fecking true ![]() got an 11 on my engine, im pretty sure that is very different to the 15 on my friends Saab. RE: 205 DTI - Paul_13 - 29-05-2016 ![]() Got that working finally! Took a while to work out. First time I've really loved at Rev counters ![]() The positive wire slipped out the plug by accident and touched the earth for a little while causing that. I swapped all the dials over into a stdt clock housing, everything works again. ![]() Found 5 dead bulbs ![]() May of hit 45psi earlier, it went waaaaay above 30 psi earlier RE: 205 DTI - Piggy - 29-05-2016 Winning RE: 205 DTI - Paul_13 - 29-05-2016 Just got to find a way of positioning the boost gauge without bastardising the plastic interior RE: 205 DTI - Paul_13 - 30-05-2016 ![]() Boost hit about there earlier ![]() RE: 205 DTI - Paul_13 - 01-06-2016 ![]() ![]() Should just squeeze that in if I stick the battery in the boot RE: 205 DTI - powerandtorque - 01-06-2016 They do fit on the battery tray just fine - although the other style of pump with the integrated reservoir is better if you're going to install it that way (IMO) Definitely no way that it'll fit underneath the expansion tank? Normally they squeeze in down there, but not sure it will with the boost pipework on yours. RE: 205 DTI - Paul_13 - 01-06-2016 Boost pipe bang in the way so no chance of that RE: 205 DTI - Paul_13 - 04-06-2016 ![]() 62p a litre of goodness ![]() RE: 205 DTI - Paul_13 - 29-01-2017 ![]() Lowered the front slightly, got to match the rear. I had rebuilt the rear beam not so long ago so it's handling roughly right. Next job is wishbone bushes and stick the PAS set up on RE: 205 DTI - allye - 29-01-2017 Good to see this is still going Paul! Don't let that bloody bimmer take up all your time. RE: 205 DTI - Paul_13 - 03-02-2017 ![]() Lowered the back 25mm to match |
