Got the dme into boot mode but couldn't read the file.
I've got a cable on the way with a ftdi chipset which hopefully will work

Unlucky on the cable front although shouldn't take long once you've got the right one. Is that another dme or your original? If you're only planning on flashing/changing the tune file you don't need to put it into boot mode, just backup the 64kb tune file before you start

It's the wrong software version which isn't supported

Ahh i see, there's a guy on one of the facebook pages selling one for £35 I've just had a trawl but can't find it :/ there's a few on there though
If you do manage to backup the full ecu in boot mode you could change SW version but will lose the EWS

Yeah, it can be all returned to stock by reflashing the full 512KB file - checksum delete alone will be really handy tbf

Yay my other ftdi cable turned up. The whole process of getting the cable to work was half the work. Why didn't I wait.

Got it all loaded into to tuner pro and starting off with
Lambda config
Anti jerk get rid of it
Lower the operating temp of the engine
Throttle map
Exhaust pops. Wife will love me when she drives this

Haven't activated launch control yet

Mine is 0037, it has them all listed but the values dont look correct for some maps so can't be right.
Intrigued to see what you think of isa less too, supposedly a dramatic diffetence

Honestly try reflashing the dme. I was shitting it but it all went ok.
I found the learning experience quite rewarding. Learnt to solder pcb's, getting the cables to work through software mods, running xp on virtual box, getting inpa to work, putting the dme into boot mode etc
Just need to sort out the car mechanically next

Not sure why but I can't get the mpps cable to install drivers now for some reason.
I got galletto to work but it only seems to work a couple of times and then it stops loading and I have to delete it and then go back in HXD and change the serial number again?!

Uploaded the map last and took her for a blast.
No more lazy feeling throttle, it's on point and accelerates like crazy.

Pretty sure there isn't anything to be gained full load, the default values already achieve the max, like you said though decent gains to be had at part load
