RE: PH1 DT estate project "stock" - ash23 - 17-04-2014 done a few more little bits on the old girl to get her handling a little more like pug intended two new wishbones old ones were fecked both bushes had basically fell apart and ball joints had lots of play but this passed a mot just before I brought her and one front axle mount us in two pieces so as you jack it up the front of the axle comes away quater inch :O some dodgy mot ers out there shouldnt have passed at all. also replaced the cv boot on the drivers side as that chucked all its grease out ![]() also chucked in a powerflex lower mount will prob be coming back out tho the vibrations are ridiculous in my black dt I put a yellow one in and I made no difference to the vibration but this is silly hopeing for it to bed in alot ill see tho. and made up a strut brace with some spare steel at work why buy when you can bodge ehh ![]() ohh and she's in for tracking tomorrow ![]() the brace will be painted silver to match the car ![]() PH1 DT estate project "stock" - devils_fuel - 17-04-2014 Could have sold you my e-tech one lol RE: PH1 DT estate project "stock" - ash23 - 17-04-2014 not really a fan of thoses ones had one on my old dt use to be very bendy lol pluss mine didnt cost me anything in fact I got payed to make it
PH1 DT estate project "stock" - devils_fuel - 17-04-2014 Lucky you being paid to make your own strut brace lol They don't bend if fitted and tensioned right
RE: PH1 DT estate project "stock" - ash23 - 19-04-2014 got the brace painted and on looks ok and put the fogs in fills the holes up nicely ![]() comments welcome as always RE: PH1 DT estate project "stock" - Chris_90 - 19-04-2014 Needs lowering that arch gap is massive other than that looking awesome as usual
RE: PH1 DT estate project "stock" - ash23 - 19-04-2014 haha something may be sorted to give it a little less tractor spec
RE: PH1 DT estate project OIL COOLER advice needed - ash23 - 24-04-2014 decided its about time I mounted the oil cooler im having pirtek make up some oil lines just need to decide on the mounting position so help is needed. its a non thermostat plate so I was thinking behind the rad to keep some warmth there? but can the cooler be side mounted or does it need to be mounted vertical? like this ? or like this? RE: PH1 DT estate project advice needed - Chris_90 - 25-04-2014 I say vertical RE: PH1 DT estate project advice needed - silverzx - 25-04-2014 About time you updated your signature! RE: PH1 DT estate project advice needed - Chris_90 - 25-04-2014 Yer it will act more a radiator that way with heat rising the cool oil will drop down to the bottom well that's how I see it might be completely wrong tho ![]() You got cover to do car? Might pop up but with weather it's given don't fancy getting piss wet though RE: PH1 DT estate project advice needed - ash23 - 25-04-2014 [quote='Chris_90' pid='424315' dateline='139844287 Yer it will act more a radiator that way with heat rising the cool oil will drop down to the bottom well that's how I see it might be completely wrong tho  You got cover to do car? Might pop up but with weather it's given don't fancy getting piss wet though
makes sence will see how easy it is to mount it.na no cover but if its pissing it down ill not bother anyway lol but should be ok anyway have to let me know if your poping over mate RE: PH1 DT estate project advice needed - Chris_90 - 26-04-2014 some pics from today ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Random pic of exhaust tip ![]()
RE: PH1 DT estate project advice needed - ash23 - 26-04-2014 Cheers chris . you like that tip ehh few more piks of todays efforts was meant to go to Combe but a shagged rad put a stop to that ![]() started like this one fecked rad I/c on forgot the in between pikss ware the pipes come to will get the rest plumbed in when I swap the turbo. simple mount chucked together for the new filter so the filter slips right in there rather than just being wedged in a corner somewhere oh and also ahd a look at makeing up a lower strut brace looks like it will be even easier than the top one ![]() c and c welcome
PH1 DT estate project FMIC on - devils_fuel - 28-04-2014 Looks good mate, better the rad let go there than hammering it around Coombe
