Ummm

Undecided. Not sure whether those wheels suit the shape of the car, they're very linear (if something round can be linear?!) where Cyclones are kinda curvy.

Yellow fogs does look good though, I recently lost my yellow paint. I might buy more from eBay but you just know if I do I'll find the old pot!

oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - kentiiboii - 31-10-2012

Dude they look sick!!

RE: oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - Oil-burner - 01-11-2012

@car you know they look epic!! Lol
I know what you mean tho, I do love clones but at the end of the day, so does everyone!
It's nice to have something a bit different to clones/challengers/nimrods!
The fogs need redoing, they look shocking up close!
Gonna keep them on until the smooth front end goes on then swap for rallye blanks I think!

@kent cheers bud, I know, I love them!
Keep driving through town to look in the shop windows! Lol

RE: oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - Curt - 01-11-2012

Looking good dude, shame the wheels aren't 16's though...

Cheers mate!
I think 17's sit perfectly on a 40mm drop but any more would be better with 16's. plus you can get closer to oem rolling radius with 17's than 16's!

I'm from an age where the general rule is 'bigger is better'. Lol

I expected the ride to be really harsh on 40 profile tyres but in all honesty I can barely tell the difference!

Got it tracked yesterday and found out the rear beam has just over 1degree of chamber! Sad
Won't be long till I need a new beam by the looks of things!

oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - kentiiboii - 01-11-2012

Oh shame about the Beam dude.

I was expecting the 17s with 40 tyres to be harsh but couldn't tell. Smile. Looks really nice dude. Can't stop looking reminds me of my baby Smile

RE: oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - Oil-burner - 01-11-2012

Aww mate, you can come have a go if you want to reminisce! Lol
I love it mate, glad I kept them silver tho, at least it's a little different to yours!
Possibly go a shade or two darker next year but nothing major!
When I get 5 mins the pug lions are going graphite the same as my masks!

oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - kentiiboii - 01-11-2012

Yeah I always said the only colour that truly goes with moonstone is silver. But I didn't want silver it gets a little boring. Took me months to find another colour.

I would go for a ride but it ain't quick enough dude :p.

Your anthracite looked nice mate but in the dark you may aswell have steels on cos you can't see them!

Give over, it's just as quick as your old one!
Stage 2 when the weather picks up!

oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - kentiiboii - 01-11-2012

Haha :p possibly quicker than mine.... Mine had a fat wanker in it :p.
can't wait till I got sarah on the road!!

RE: oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - Oil-burner - 02-11-2012

Haha, I have a sandbag lowering system (really technical stuff) in my boot pal, along with all my tools etc! Hardly rallye spec!

What you doing with it, sorting it first or doing it as and when?

oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - kentiiboii - 02-11-2012

Really not sure. Corsa is t&t till end of the month so might use that time to get coil overs and things on. But doubt it'll be sprayed till after Christmas.

RE: oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - Oil-burner - 02-11-2012

Yeah I guess you may aswell use that up, unless the tub is t&t'd otherwise your just wasting the t&t on that!

oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - kentiiboii - 02-11-2012

The tubby is tested but no tax.

RE: oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - Oil-burner - 02-11-2012

May aswell use the corsa up then pal!
What you doin with it after? Scrapping it?

oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - kentiiboii - 02-11-2012

My dad says mot it and eBay it. But not sure. Defferntly not be scrapped. A car on eBay with good mot sells for about £400.

RE: oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - Oil-burner - 12-11-2012

Right, temporary solution to my smooth front end dilemma

Just a Rattle can job but it'll do for the time being, gonna start saving to get it done properly and blown into my wings!

RE: oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - CJ_Derv - 12-11-2012

i like it but now a fan of the wheels either tbh, i used to have a similar style but was 5 spoke and wasnt flat cut, they remind me a bit of khan 17's which were popular years ago, but i hate the handling on 17's since going to 15's TBH

RE: oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - Oil-burner - 12-11-2012

Cheers bud, yeah I'm having mixed reviews on the wheels tbh, they remind me of Audi s3/TT wheels, yeah they would probably have been better in a 16" but it's my daily so can't go any lower so these fill the arches nicely. plus it really doesn't get thrashed about, i dont really get the chance anymore so doesn't really make much odds to me.

Fair play then bud if just for looks then WIN, dont get me wrong i do like them, maybe would look better with the smoothing you mentioned Smile

RE: oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - Oil-burner - 12-11-2012

I'm getting old now bud, plus I've had too many speeding fines so have to keep a lid on it! Lol
Don't get me wrong I chuck it about from time to time but its hardly a track car!

Yeah I'm hoping the smoothing looks good, shame I can't afford to get it painted properly yet tho!

RE: oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - CJ_Derv - 12-11-2012

Can certainly see wheels looking better with smooth bodywork Big Grin

RE: oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - Chris_90 - 12-11-2012

Bonnet and grill look good i think!

RE: oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - Arron - 12-11-2012

Fan of the wheels!! 60 drop tho...

RE: oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - Oil-burner - 12-11-2012

Hoping its gonna look well mate, next job it tints, rallye blanks and smooth bumpers I think!

RE: oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - Arron - 13-11-2012

Ah rally blanks... need some myself...i've resorted to writing a list of what my car needs!!

Is she stage 1... can't believe I've missed this thread... very tidy car

RE: oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - Oil-burner - 13-11-2012

Cheers mate, it's come a long way in a pretty short time tbh.
I've always preferred the blanks tbh, looks cleaner. Apparently they are like £14 from pug.

Yeah, just stage 1'd ATM, clutch is starting to give up so concentrating on aesthetics until the weather warms up a bit.

RE: oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - Oil-burner - 13-11-2012

Quick 30 - 70
30-70

I know about the eml, i pulled the TPS cos it's acting up!

RE: oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - Oil-burner - 13-11-2012

No idea how to post them properly??

RE: oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - puglove - 13-11-2012

Again another vote for not a fan of those wheels. But on the up side they look better in silver.

Can i make a suggestion? Its the center caps that look shite IMO they are way to bolky . As i said to kent if you could find a less bolky more flush replacment i think they would look alont nicer and be one off
