RE: Flame Red S14 Zenki - silverzx - 24-06-2014

Just fitted some new disks all round.

My front drivers side calliper only had 1 of 4 pistons working (the joys of 4 pots) so unseized all 4 but they'll certainly seize up again (if they haven't already) so have purchased some Z32 (300ZX) aluminium brakes which are effectively the same as the 200SX S14 ones but are lighter due to being ally and not iron. They've also been rebuilt so should last a long while.

Also ordered battery relocation stuff.

Also ordered a hydraulic handbrake.

Also acquired some 18"s.

Also 20mm spacers all round.

Fitted all the trim I was missing in the cabin so the radio doesn't flap around and the fusebox can't be kicked when mashing the pedals.

Will do some pictures when I'm back from Turkey and have got round to fitting it all.

Shame I can't find any free 18" rubber.

16" I have in plentiful amounts, guess I'll stick to them for now..

Flame Red S14 Zenki - devils_fuel - 11-07-2014

Looking well Trent Smile

Flame Red S14 Zenki - silverzx - 11-07-2014

When is there any local ones, a cheddar anytime soon?

Flame Red S14 Zenki - silverzx - 20-07-2014

Did a bit of a drift day yesterday!

Also noticed only one of four locking nuts are still in place on turbo gasket so it's way down on power.

Also welding my spare diff and fitting that slag.

A few pictures:

- Fit welded diff
- Fix speakers
- Carpet rear & boot
- Roll arches
- Purchase ally radiator

RE: Flame Red S14 Zenki - Dum-Dum - 21-07-2014

Nice but it doesn't look like it'll hold if i'm totally honest.

What size tyres are you using as I'm starting building my tyre wall at the bottom of the garden

Out of the four holes I'm welding all four, my friend has his only welded in two opposite holes and its lasted two years so far and long enough to acquire a BDC license. She'll be reet! Angel

205/55/16's though most 16" sizes also get used. Why are you building a wall of tyres?

Commitment on those tyres Trent Wink

Looking well

Flame Red S14 Zenki - silverzx - 22-07-2014

Lol, crash barrier of tyres?

Cheers Chris. 😎

My skirts arrived today, I'm going to bond them on with tiger seal after my MoT in case having them removed helps with any access they require.

Flame Red S14 Zenki - devils_fuel - 23-07-2014

So when we gonna test fit these 18's, will they fit on the pug?

We? When you coming up to cheddar for some fun? [GRINNING FACE WITH SMILING EYES]

Did some more painting with the spare hour I had yesterday.

Flame Red S14 Zenki - devils_fuel - 24-07-2014

I used we darling as I thought it would be rude to say me...considering they are you wheels lol

What spec are they so I can see if they fit etc?

Time is very restricted through summer as working 6 days a week most weeks...which sucks big time as I need to squeeze in family life Smile. Arrange a cheddar meet and hopefully I can grace you with my grumpy face lol

Flame Red S14 Zenki - silverzx - 24-07-2014

Cheers Chris, look at first page, think the wheel specs are on there? Not sure if I want them on tbh. Might stick them on the front and use my 4x16"s purely for drift tyres!

That's life mate, I'll sort something out soon!

Another update.

More or less finished painting the diff, kind of got bored of it to be honest! It'll do!

Also finished attempting to paint the wing, it's better then before but by no means prefect!

Cut down some Titanium M10 bolts for my exhaust manifold to turbo, ordered M10 aero nuts, another genuine gasket from Conceptua tuning.

Jobs for the weekend include fitting the 300ZX brakes and modifying/repairing the turbo/exhaust manifold.

Diff is getting some more welding Saturday too before fitting. Can't wait!

Flame Red S14 Zenki - devils_fuel - 25-07-2014

Ha ha I meant what offset etc are the 18's lol

Getting there mate, where did you go drifting??

Fek knows, will need to do a Google search.

I'm having a MASSIVE ball ache with the turbo/exhaust manifold on this atm.

The studs/nuts/locking tab arrangement is utter SHITE and trying to find some Iconel studs in M8/M10 is becoming more like finding a needle in a hay stack.

If anyone feels helpful feel free to view these two threads and make some sense of it..

http://www.sxoc.com/vbb/showthread.php?571039-Hylomar-on-Turbo-Exhaust&highlight=

http://www.sxoc.com/vbb/showthread.php?570826-Rattle-from-turbo-gasket-locking-tabs&highlight=

The way I see it I have few options:

1) Weld the turbo to manifold (bodge)
2) Fit genuine Nissan studs (Icondel at £51 for all 4)
3) Fit generic exhaust studs
4) Bore out the M8 stud to M10 and use generic M10's

The Genunie Nissan gasket is on it's way at £17 posted. I've ordered aero M10 nuts at £6 so thats £23 + plus cost of M10 studs. Finding some quality M10 stud's is becoming a problem.

What to do..

Flame Red S14 Zenki - silverzx - 27-07-2014

Diff is completely welded, sealed up and ready to go. Wish I hadn't bothered painting it as it looks like the primer/paint bad reacted and not made a good bond.

Other developments of yesterday include removing the turbo, welding it to the exhaust manifold and refitting.

Found out I have a Forge actuator which I didn't know about!

Checked it for play and it's real tight, in very good condition with next to no play which is a pleasant surprise as I thought it might be of the way out!

Welded the turbo to manifold.

Refitted turbo.

Piece of piss tbh compared to 306! [THUMBS UP SIGN]

Helped my mate do his Scoob brakes (which are identical to S14 brakes except the rears have an independent drum hand brake (bastard).

Then i went ahead and fitted my Z32 aluminium brakes, gave it some fresh Dot 5.1, by god what a difference!

I don't know yet, need to get 4 x prop shaft bolts/nuts sometime this week and put it on.

I'm taking it off the road this coming month for welding/MOT/underseal/tidying.

Then come September, epic drifts bro. Heart
