Might be able to get the drum beam and coilovers on tomorrow and get it low on my black clones Big Grin

RE: Puglove's onxy 'state, (update Exhuast 5/5/13) - Piggy - 15-06-2013

awesome

RE: Puglove's onxy 'state, (update Exhuast 5/5/13) - puglove - 16-06-2013

So I had a down grade... The rear beam was totally shagged on this, and was killing the tyers and the mounts were epicly bad so I needed to do something about it,

I had this spare XUD beam kicking about, only done 80k no camber atall, gti ARB , good shoes, and it didn't cost me anything so will do until I arrange something eles, OR I may even just swap the TBs and make a gti spec drum beam and keep it on as im not fussed.

Also this has sorted the stance at last WOOP

lol at the taxi sign making a subtle appearance lmao
does look way better now the back isnt in the air, and i kinda like the low plate, gives it a different front end look altogether!

Lol you gotta love the lurking sign lol

Yeah im abit un decided on the plate, doesn't look as good as it did on the ph2, but yeah it makes the bumper look a lot bigger, a different so of look

RE: Puglove's onxy 'state, (update Exhuast 5/5/13) - Grant - 16-06-2013

I actually really like this. The wheels look spot on, good height, nothing over the top. It all just works perfectly.

So leave it alone now Smile

RE: Puglove's onxy 'state, (update Exhuast 5/5/13) - puglove - 16-06-2013

Its like a middle spec, its not basic i.e manual mirrors/windows no air bag, but its not a top spec I.E leccy rear windows, leather, full air bags, its the middle of the road

GL = bottom spec
GLX = middle spec
meridian= top spec

My estate (the above one) is a strange one, Its a GLX but...... it has every optional extra going so its a meridian but with GLX badges and paint

RE: Puglove's onxy 'state, (update Exhuast 5/5/13) - Jimmy306 - 16-06-2013

Ahh right. Thanks.

Yours is a stunner pal. The ph3 is a much better looking car than the ph2. Mine looks old fashioned! lol

RE: Puglove's onxy 'state, (update Exhuast 5/5/13) - puglove - 16-06-2013

Cheers fella

yours is very easily up dated pal, all you need, is..........

Front bumper
Head lights
rear bumper
side skirts
rub strips.

This will make it almost 100% ph3 from the outside, NO modification required, ALL straight fit and bolt on, and im sure sure you could do it for £100-150 now days, and any local members would happily help out fitting for some bacon sarines and coffee

Not bad really. Thing is i said i wouldnt mod this but seeing ones like yours make me want to lol. Excuse my ignorance,is yours a diesel? Diesel seems quite popular.
Pretty chuffed with my 1.8 engine power wise and its not bad on fuel (well its better than my vectra gsi lol)

RE: Puglove's onxy 'state, (update Exhuast 5/5/13) - puglove - 16-06-2013

AAAHH I wouldn't say its modifying though... its just updating, And TBH. 306's in general are so cheap to mod its rude not to lol.

But yes mine is diesel, a later HDI one, stage 1 Remap and straight through exhaust 120-125bhp fairly quick good on fuel, will be even quicker later this year Big Grin

As for the 1.8 iv never known any one to have one and every one just assumes the worst about them, but by the sound of yours they really arnt as bad as you would be lead to believe, and yeah im sure it would be better on fuel than a 2.5 v6 lol lol

RE: Puglove's onxy 'state, (update Exhuast 5/5/13) - Grant - 16-06-2013

I loved my 1.8. Worst thing I ever did getting rid of it.

That said, it wasn't an estate so no help what-so-ever here :p

RE: Puglove's onxy 'state, (update Exhuast 5/5/13) - Jimmy306 - 16-06-2013

I bet that does go fairly well! Good torque....

I've not heard any horror stories of the 1.8? Are they not that favoured then? Cant fault mine,done 6k in it since october absolutely trouble free bar a clicky engine mount,which cost me £6 to fix lol.

Yeah much better than the 2.5 v6 but god that sounds nice lol.

RE: Puglove's onxy 'state, (update Exhuast 5/5/13) - puglove - 16-06-2013

No people on here don't faver them but........ a lot of that is down to the fact that they arnt very tuneable, well not for reasonable money,

For example my HDI iv achieved and extra 30-35bhp for around £50 , I can get to 155bhp for around another £300,

And XUD diesel estate you can get to £130 bhp for free or around 150-60bhp for £3-400

Where as to get more power out of a 1.8 you looking at aload of money & a shed load of custom development

This is a big reason they are not so favered, plus the weight that has to be pulled with the torque the 1.8 has

RE: Puglove's onxy 'state, (update Exhuast 5/5/13) - puglove - 18-06-2013

So today I put the number plate back, removed the yellow fogs, (will be put back on) and rolled my arches out to stop the wheels hitting

RE: Puglove's onxy 'state, (update Exhuast 5/5/13) - Piggy - 18-06-2013

Iv got my spare set of fogs in bits to re tint the yellow, but the inners are rusted so may spray them black just to see as they are trash otherwise any way,

Iv done black fogs before tho, im the only person I know that's done it on a ph2 Big Grin
