RE: Project re shell. 3 door. (Flocking now completed) - sam - 27-03-2013 Ahhhh makes sence dude looking forward for it to be on the road shoul look epic! RE: Project re shell. 3 door. (Flocking now completed) - Pompey306mark - 27-03-2013 Going to paint the engine bay next week, but need to think of a nice stand out colour. Car will be blue with black roof though. RE: Project re shell. 3 door. (Flocking now completed) - sam - 27-03-2013 Bright pink or purple or yellow or green ![]() RE: Project re shell. 3 door. (Flocking now completed) - Pugmarshall - 27-03-2013 Glow in the dark ![]() RE: Project re shell. 3 door. (Flocking now completed) - Dum-Dum - 28-03-2013 GITD FTMFW! RE: Project re shell. 3 door. (Flocking now completed) - Pompey306mark - 28-03-2013 But it would never glow as it would not see direct sunlight. RE: Project re shell. 3 door. (Flocking now completed) - devils_fuel - 28-03-2013 ^^^ cut a hole in the bonnet then ![]() RE: Project re shell. 3 door. (Flocking now completed) - Pompey306mark - 28-03-2013 Yea cos everyone loves a massive hole in the bonnet. Or make it out of clear plastic. RE: Project re shell. 3 door. (Flocking now completed) - Matt - 28-03-2013 Bonnets are over rated anyway RE: Project re shell. 3 door. (Flocking now completed) - Pompey306mark - 28-03-2013 Been working on the centre fascia vents today, sanded back all the crap, made it as smooth as I could now just priming them, then going to get them and the other parts flocked. Most likely on blue to closely match the carpet. ![]() RE: Project re shell. 3 door. (Flocking now completed) - Pompey306mark - 01-04-2013 Again nothing interesting. Vinyled the filler cap covers. ![]() Think I will try and get a set of phase 3 rub strips vinyl them black too, as I don't think I will be smoothing the doors this time around. Will gloss black vinyl the roof, then once I swap everything over will strip the old vinyl from the front end as its taken a few good hits from traffic debris. Then plastidip the car this colour I hope as its a custom colour so will have to mix it. ![]() Have also been looking at different alloys. Superleggra's Pro race 1 or 3's And a few other lighter weight alloys. RE: Project re shell. 3 door. RE: Project re shell. 3 door. (Flocking now completed) - Tom - 10-04-2013 That colour on the bmw is so win! RE: Project re shell. 3 door. (Flocking now completed) - Pompey306mark - 14-04-2013 Yea I am hoping to get close to the blue on the BMW. Right all the flocking is almost complete, just the drivers vent gauge, and dials surround to go. But need to strip my car first. But here are the final parts, it's a grey colour not white. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Hoping to finish off the engine bay and underseal the car this week or next week, depends on how the work goes on Sam/phil's car, and if I get asked to help johnny and fooby in France, no work on this next weekend as I am hoping to go with Sam/Phil to the Lake District meet. RE: Project re-shell. (now with more flocked parts) - Tom - 14-04-2013 Thats funking nice! RE: Project re-shell. (now with more flocked parts) - Niall - 14-04-2013 Looking forward to having a sit in this Mark with all the flocking. I bet it will make the car feel very cosy. Just having a black roof lining makes it feel like a much more pleasant place to be. RE: Project re-shell. (now with more flocked parts) - Pompey306mark - 14-04-2013 Yea I did black on mine too. I was going to get that flocked too but thought it might crease when trying to fit it. RE: Project re-shell. (now with more flocked parts) - Niall - 14-04-2013 Cool. How much has all the flocking cost you in person? Tbh im never too sure on flocking. Its difficult to photograph without it looking horrible but ive seen it once in a mint 106 rallye turbo and i really liked it but apparently it can differ vastly depending on the quality of the flock used. RE: Project re-shell. (now with more flocked parts) - Pompey306mark - 14-04-2013 A little over £200 for all the parts. Mine does look good, Eli and ginge had a feel of the new bits at the Pompey yesterday. The guy I use has been doing in a few years now, and has learnt from his mistakes in the past. RE: Project re-shell. (now with more flocked parts) - Pompey306mark - 27-04-2013 A few hours work today. First smoothed the roof, needs a bit more filling but that can wait til the car is on the drive. ![]() Finished engine bay with a bit more paint. ![]() Under sealed the arches to begin with, need to buy some more to so the undside of the car. ![]() ![]() Looks better with the side skirts. ![]() Project as it stands now. ![]() Nothing will happen for two weeks now as next weekend I am away with the family. So hopefully May 10,11, and 12th will be the end of the five door shell. Would love a hand if anyone is free that weekend. Re: Project re-shell. (now with more flocked parts) - kentiiboii - 27-04-2013 Id love to do something like this but atm I dont have the space or money. RE: Project re-shell. (now with more flocked parts) - Pompey306mark - 27-04-2013 So far has cost £700. Including all parts and fuel and paint and stuff. RE: Project re-shell. (now with more flocked parts) - devils_fuel - 27-04-2013 Looking good sparky-marky, I likey a lot ! RE: Project re-shell.
