But yeah. Golf 3's are, as Ruan has said, one of the blandest, lifeless car i have ever owned/driven. I bought one (16v GTi no less!!) and chopped it up, it's all it deserved.

And no, I'm not one sided. I hate 306's just as much, but at least they have character. Mine did for 200 miles till I did this...

For 60mpg and cheap tax......if I could afford petrol again I'd buy another 306. Smile. I don't like mk4s, never have done lol, but there's nothing even close to in terms of costs, SPEC, performance as standard and comfort.

And I was really dissapointed with my mates mk2 gti, slow and thirsty and very expensive to run...bit old for me too tbh.

Well considering I have been driving both a 306 and a new skoda Octavia for the past 2 years side by side, I can safely say that I would have the Peugeot any day. For a rand new car, the magical VaG has broken several times quite majorly and my 306 has trooped on without a single fault. And even if the 306 did break down, it's cheap to repair.
The clutch went on the skoda at 29k because the slave cylinder shat its self. How much do you think it cost to put a new clutch in? £3500 and that was without a SMF which should of been fitted. VAG = lifeless, slow, boring, unreliable crap!

lol Niall that post is nearly a year old. If I remember correctly (and I probably do since I'm sad like that), it was a mate of a well-known member on here who signed up to troll, but was pretty terrible at it, then I found his address and home phone number and he didn't stick around much longer whistle
