You need an MTF for the gearbox and the best proven options are the Red Line MTL, Amsoil MTF or Fuchs Sintofluid. The Millers TRX 75w-80 and Motul Motylgear are good alternatives. http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-670-75w-80-75w-85-mtfs.aspx Cheers Tim RE: Oil advice & recommendations from oilman @ Opie Oils - MisterGTR - 28-08-2014 Make: Peugeot Model: 306 Gti 6 Year: 1999 Performance Modifications: None so far Engine has 36500 Was wondering about Motul 5w50 or Mobile 1 0w40 both of which i use on the Fat Datsun Ta RE: Oil advice & recommendations from oilman @ Opie Oils - oilman - 29-08-2014 Hi The Mobil 0w-40 would be fine, but the Motul would be a bit thick. Just to clarify, it's the one that hasn't got a cat. And also it's done around 160 thousands kilometers, also plan on uping turbo pressure and fueling just a tad. Thanks! I have a 1.9 Dt 1995 306 what oil do you recommend? Thanks in advance! Hi I would use a 5w-40 synthetic as the best option. http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-656-5w-40.aspx Out of those, the best ones are the Fuchs/Silkolene Pro S, Millers CFS/CFS NT, Motul Sport/300V, Red Line and Gulf Competition. As a budget choice, a 10w-40 will be fine and I would either go for the Fuchs Syn MC, Shell Helix, Millers Trident/EE Nanodrive, Castrol Magnatec, Mobil Super 2000 or Motul 6100 http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-657-10w-40.aspx Cheers Tim RE: Oil advice & recommendations from oilman @ Opie Oils - thecrab - 24-02-2016 Thanks And if you don't mind recommending, what about the oil filter, Mann, bosch or others? Thanks RE: Oil advice & recommendations from oilman @ Opie Oils - oilman - 24-02-2016 Oil filters from reputable brands are all pretty similar, you should have no issues with them at all. It's only the dirt cheap ones from motor factors and online sellers that you've never heard of are the ones that you need to be wary of. Cheers Tim RE: Oil advice & recommendations from oilman @ Opie Oils - thecrab - 24-02-2016 Thank you so much! And I don't want to be tiring, but could you recommend an oil for a mitsubishi lancer 2.0 did from 2009 that's done around 90 thousand kilometres, thanks again! RE: Oil advice & recommendations from oilman @ Opie Oils - impotentials - 24-02-2016 Engine and gearbox oil please for a 1998 gti6 150,000 miles stage 2. Cams, full exhaust, map, induction kit and oil cooler. track and driving to the track use. Best option please. thanks greg RE: Oil advice & recommendations from oilman @ Opie Oils - thecrab - 15-06-2016 @oilman Hi! No answers for my Lancer and Greg's GTI 6? Don't mean to be rude! Thanks in advance! RE: Oil advice & recommendations from oilman @ Opie Oils - oilman - 16-06-2016 Hi No idea why, but I don't seem to have had notifications of those questions. You need an oil that meets the VW507.00 spec for the Lancer. http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-754-vw-50700-oil.aspx They are all good oils, so make your decision based on any brand/price preference you have. For Greg's GTI6, it all comes down to oil temps. Any idea how hot the oil is getting on track? Cheers Tim RE: Oil advice & recommendations from oilman @ Opie Oils - thecrab - 16-06-2016 I thought it was weird, you always answer so quickly haha, thank you so much mate!
