RE: oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - samass - 23-10-2012

ah im sure youll always come up with more ideas lol

yeah my xsi was -40 on the front and standard on the back, looked awful if there wasn't anything in the boot! lukily i usually carted my tools about with me everywhere (too lazy to take em out) so that dropped it about 300 mm which was spot on!

soak the tits off it in a decent penetrating fluid and it shouldnt be too bad, yours is phase three after all! or take a road trip down this way and get KrisB to sort it Tongue

RE: oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - Oil-burner - 23-10-2012

Dropped it 300mm? Lol
I've gone the old school method and am now sporting a bag of sand in the boot!
I dunno, sometimes I don't like it and others I do, I just don't like them dragging their arse!
Apparently there's a bloke up here that does Saxo's, Kentiiboii recommended him!
Like I said if it looks wa*k with the 17's I'll bite the bullet!
I'd ideally wanna go 60mm all round but don't think my bumper would last more than 30 seconds round here!
Kents looked well on the aidels, think he was around the 60mm mark

RE: oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - samass - 23-10-2012

haha you know what i mean!!
yeah dude, 60mm would look awesome, just do it!

RE: oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - Oil-burner - 23-10-2012

Hmmm maybe, gotta find some new springs then!
I wouldn't do it till after the winter anyway cos it'll just end up being a snow plough!
Gonna have a look at Kents thread cos that looks just right.

:'( don't do this to mee!!!! That picture look soooo sexy!!!!!
It was 60mm on ear dude and 40mm on front. But tbh I didn't like the little bit of arch gap left on front so I should of gone another 5mm IMO but if I did in wouldnt of got on my drive and you seen how bad that is.

RE: oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - declantg - 23-10-2012

Looking good mate! Let me know how the colour match on the moonstone goes Smile

Only thing im not keen on is the wheels, they seem abit to *big* for the car? might just be me :L

RE: oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - Oil-burner - 23-10-2012

@kentiiboii it did look really well mate!
Na I think the front looks bang on, u sure that's 40mm? If anything I'd have the rear matching the front,
Looks good with just a tiny bit of arch gap IMO!
If I decide to lower the back end you'll have to put me in touch with your man!

@declantg colour match is a bitch mate, I'll get away with the grill ... Just but gonna have to get the bonnet blown in I think! Gonna cost me a fortune.
Yeah a lot of people are like that with 17's but I think they fill the arches perfectly!
Ride comfort is a different matter, in 3 weeks when what's left of my spine has turned into fag ash my opinion may have changed slightly! Lol

oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - kentiiboii - 23-10-2012

Rude comfort isn't that bad tbh. A few people have said to me that my 306 was a better ride than my corsa baring in mind it was on 17s with 40 profile tyre and lowered on eBay coils.
They look best matched mate otherwise the nose does a dive. But some people are into that but not me.

RE: oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - Oil-burner - 23-10-2012

You saw the bag of sand in the back of my motor pal, that's there for a reason! Lol
Like I say I might get your man to Match me the rear when I've got some spare cash, skint for a while now tho, you've bled me dry! Lol

RE: oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - Oil-burner - 30-10-2012

My favourite update so far!!! .......

......The aidels are on and looking rude!!

Spent most of today searching for tyres but its been worth it!!

Too dark for pics so ill post some tomorrow! Smile

oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - kentiiboii - 30-10-2012

You sorted the studs out then dude??? Bad news you ain't going to be the only 306 with aidels now :p. my tubby sarah will have them too Smile

Don't understand why you had problem tbh strange.

RE: oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - Oil-burner - 30-10-2012

Must have been a bit of crap in the threads or something! The other side went on in 2 mins!
You reprinting the aidels before you put them on?

oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - kentiiboii - 30-10-2012

Not sure yet. If I do it will be a quick job! I got engaged Sunday night so I have a wedding to pay for never mind a car. :p which is why I've bought the tubby Smile so I don't wanna spend much money. Using it to save money :p.

RE: oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - Oil-burner - 30-10-2012

Bloody el mate, congratulations!
If you want a hand with them give us a shout!
You gonna stick a Bosch on it so you can veg up?

oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - kentiiboii - 30-10-2012

Thanks dude Smile. Ended up getting back with my ex! So knew what I had to do Smile.

I have smooth bonnet grill boot for it. It has a few dints and scrapes and I'm going to fill them in and smooth bump strips and bumpers. Putting my phase 3 bumpers on Smile. Rolling arches out and going to slam it on arse as much as possible with 17s. Then being sprayed satin black lacquered Smile.

RE: oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - Oil-burner - 30-10-2012

Was that your gf in the car the other night?

Sounds good pal, get it slammed! What you goin, about 100mm?
Gonna scrape like fook! Lol

Ph3 bumper is a must too!!

oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - kentiiboii - 30-10-2012

No that was my friend. Just got back with my girlfriend. We split up for 3 months.

Yeah possibly about 100mm if its possible with 17s without it being way too much. Smile yes it'll scrape like fook Smile but will look cool Smile

RE: oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - Oil-burner - 30-10-2012

Haha, just don't ruin the wheels!

oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - kentiiboii - 30-10-2012

Yeah exactly that's why I don't wanna go too far with it. :p.

RE: oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - Oil-burner - 30-10-2012

You'll prob struggle with much more than 60mm then tbh!

RE: oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - samass - 30-10-2012

Jesus Christ get a room you aidel bum boys!

oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - kentiiboii - 30-10-2012

I'm not sure I think with the 15mm spacers its close the the outta arch can't remember is it just misses or not. But need to play. First need to sort power steering pipe and possibly new radiator.

Samass your just jealous :p.
it was fun own 2 sets of them though with them being rare :p

RE: oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - Oil-burner - 30-10-2012

Haha, we are the only ones!
Well I'm the only one for the time being! :p

Who else are we support to bum over our wheels? Lol

oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - kentiiboii - 30-10-2012

Ahemm I have the set!! Just got to order stud conversions and nuts tomorrow. Smile.

RE: oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - Oil-burner - 30-10-2012

They are pretty close on the front from what I can see but the back has still got plenty of room!
Proper paranoid about the studs on the way home tho! Lol

What you mean you have the set? Lol

Feck it, couldn't help myself

[Image: 7169CD8E-B32C-493B-A4B0-A470F5497DA0-168...F549A8.jpg]

Front end is still sitting a bit higher in that pic as I'd just lowered it off the jack!

oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - kentiiboii - 31-10-2012

They look lush!!!!!!

RE: oil-burner's moonstone HDi project - Oil-burner - 31-10-2012
