I dont understand how your car danny with them mods pulled such a low power even more so when your over 30psi? Confused

But once you sort it should be a right animal! Such a nice car! But if you do lose the love feel free to sell me them wheels Tongue

RE: Yorkshire RR Day Results! - lolsteve - 13-10-2013

Quick question about these figures?
Are they Bhp or hp? since my car was 160ps as standard new which translates to 158 (B?)hp

On the graphs it's written as engine power:146hp and Wheel power 120hp. Does this mean I've lost 15bhp or 38bhp or did I never have 160bhp and it was 160hp and after drivetrain losses it was more like 135bhp?

RE: Yorkshire RR Day Results! - Toms306 - 13-10-2013

PS is pointless, it just makes cars look a bit more powerful written down lol.

So yeah you should've had ~158bhp at the engine to start with. Obviously you lose ~15bhp or so through the drivetrain so wheel power will be less. So basically, assuming your car left the factory with 158bhp, you've only lost 12bhp......

RE: Yorkshire RR Day Results! - Rippthrough - 13-10-2013

You might not have lost it, quite often manufacturers figures are done without the belt driving the water pump/PAS and alternator on

Burned to clean and vey quickly because the lda pin wasn't even engaging till the last cm or so on throttle arm travel. Ie it wasn't adding more fuel when it needed it top end was running lean on boost

RE: Yorkshire RR Day Results! - DazzaHDI - 13-10-2013

So Danny was the one that bought those minilites from will the other month, snapped them up quick! Looks like some decent results there, I would like to attend the next one if it's not too far away, I only live up the road from zx too so if I could keep up with him lol I would follow him

Manufacturers figures are always at the flywheel mate, 135bhp at the wheels is probably about what you had new, for the first 3k until the first HG blew Wink

Not everyone, but off the top of my head, Honda, Mazda, Rover did it and possibly still do, even aston and jag used to pull those tricks.

so just confirming a gti6 is 167 at the flywheel then ?

RE: Yorkshire RR Day Results! - jammapic - 14-10-2013

Yes. A healthy GTi-6, boggo stock would pull about 140hp at the wheels.

With an airfilter, an exhaust and intake cam advanced slightly mine ran 177hp @ the flywheel and 144hp at the wheels.

RE: Yorkshire RR Day Results! - jammapic - 14-10-2013
