Thanks for the heads up c2k, but I can see the inlet valves are bent now the inlet is off, will find out the true extent of the damage when I get the head off.

Any no what could have caused it to slip on the front cam?

What's the best way to remove exhaust manifold?

Exhaust manifold can be done from above but easiest from below, it's a bitch .


Perhaps Cambelt Snapped and was poorly timed. Where did you find the pullies?

Cambelt hadn't snapped was ok, bottom end locked off and rear cam locked off fine front one was out by about 80-90degrees. The woman had the car for 4 years with out issue she said this is first problem she had apart from cat for mot.

Not looking forward to the exhaust manifold then Sad

I would have thought 90 degrees beyond the possibility of a pulley slot, it's maybe 30 degrees arc of rotation I recall. to have more would indicate that it was poorly timed - perhaps someone had a go at belt before you after cambelt snappage was what I meant. Smile
