mine would have to be my mk2 golf gti 3 door. it was completely standard and great fun on b roads.

my old mk1 rover 216 gti. honda engine, audi 17 inch alloys, coilies, indution, stainless. then i wrote it off. totally gutted.
never seen one up for sale since then. would buy one tomorrow.

I know of a 220gti going for a couple of hundred

GFs Escapade 106. Mark 1 with electric windows, c/l fogs 1.1 but we put a 1.4 in when the engine died. Was a fantastic car just felt so nice to drive and we put a hell of alot of work into it.

Would have still had it going strong no matter what it needed but it was written off by a guy that was too impatient to look both ways at a junction
