RE: £9.99 HIDs on amazon - Piggy - 12-02-2013 yeah, I can see some lawsuits soon from people having accidents due to being temporarily blinded by a chav with ill fitting HIDs coming the other way RE: £9.99 HIDs on amazon - Curt - 12-02-2013 (12-02-2013, 10:25 PM)Niall Wrote: Other thing is, even if there was a way though a mot with aftermarket HIDs, personally i find it selfish that people still fit them just so they can see a few foot further yet anyone coming towards them generally have trouble seeing anything! This. "They don't dazzle anyone, they're set looking at the floor". Well actually, yes they do, as I'm driving my car being blinded by them, how do you have a clue inside? A subtle hint is the fact the lights are illuminating the top of that tree. It's a subject that really frustrates me, and as you say it's just selfish. RE: £9.99 HIDs on amazon - Niall - 12-02-2013 Exactly. I check my headlights in the kia regularly seeing as i carry varying weights all the time. Easy enough to just pull up behind someone at the lights and you can see the top of the beam pattern and adjust it accordingly. I dont care if people say "oh its safer for me because i can see further". I have actually had times before where i genuinely havent been able to see a single thing for a few seconds and have been driving blind. Is that safe? No. Sooner these kits are banned, the better! oh and people putting headlight bulbs in upside down should be shot for being absolute idiots! Thats just as bad! RE: £9.99 HIDs on amazon - declantg - 12-02-2013 Running HIDs makes my penis a whole inch longer RE: £9.99 HIDs on amazon - Piggy - 12-02-2013 (12-02-2013, 10:48 PM)Niall Wrote: oh and people putting headlight bulbs in upside down should be shot for being absolute idiots! Thats just as bad! yes! I thought I was the only one who noticed this...if you put a bulb in upside down which can only be fitted one way, then you shouldn't drive...end of see it a lot with tail/stop bulbs too...they only fit one way, yet people manage to fit them wrong!? I dont expect everyone to know how to service and maintain their own car...but you should be able to fit a bulb for goodness sake...or know when aftermarket HIDs are just a cheap ticket to 'Chavworld' and 'annoyeveryoneelseworld' and 'blindpeopleworld' (12-02-2013, 10:49 PM)declantg Wrote: Running HIDs makes my penis a whole inch longer wahhay...2inches!! You just need washer units. Find a 405 in a scrapyard. RE: £9.99 HIDs on amazon - C.A.R. - 12-02-2013 I used to be in the same camp...HIDs are bad, they're chavvy, it's selfish, you are basically Hitler... However, modern cars dazzle the shit out of you. A brand new BMW, Merc, Vauxhall, Ford - pretty much anything - even a bottom-rung company car like a poverty silver Kia. The provision of an 'automatic self levelling system' is so f*cking stupid I can't convey it enough. Even the fastest sensors/motors could not counter the elevation of the car to adjust the light beam fast enough - it's pointless. And washers? Just keep your headlight lenses clean, dick, it's not hard. HIDs are fine when installed correctly. I've got the H7r bulbs and they are spot on, but considerably brighter than a conventional bulb. Now everybody just play nice. Fitting aftermarket HIDs is not tantamount to raping the baby Jesus, so please calm down. RE: £9.99 HIDs on amazon - Connor - 12-02-2013 I actually agree with CAR for once... f*ck sake RE: £9.99 HIDs on amazon - Rippthrough - 12-02-2013 The leveling system doesn't work whilst the car is in motion, it's not to stop dazzle over bumps as most people think, it's just to compensate for luggage/passengers, etc. Same as any adjuster is. RE: £9.99 HIDs on amazon - Curt - 13-02-2013 My point is they're bad enough on cars that are supposed to have them, let alone retro-fits where they are even worse £9.99 HIDs on amazon - kentiiboii - 13-02-2013 100% for hids. Best mod I've bought for my car! RE: £9.99 HIDs on amazon - Jacko - 14-02-2013 ![]() They're here, and they don't look too bad quality for £14 posted! 'E' Marks and everything. Real simple. The worst part is storing the ballasts somewhere RE: £9.99 HIDs on amazon - Slam Wagon - 14-02-2013 oh ok fair enough i thought there might be a little fiddling with the wires, thats all good then. i would order a set but i need to wait and see if i need an engine yet. £9.99 HIDs on amazon - kentiiboii - 14-02-2013 As guessed got to my mrs house and these were waiting for me. ![]() Mine will be fitted to the fogs going to service the car change my bumper all in same day so will put pictures up. But they're just a case of plug and play. I know for my headlights I needed a 52 or 32mm drill bit for the plastic cap. So going to guess fogs will be same so I can get the wires through. But they come with rubber bung. |
