No, they're only there to keep the disk in position when the wheel is removed. You can have them missing or broken and it'll be fine in normal use, just a bit of a pain changing wheels if you don't have studs as the disk tends to rotate relative to the hub so the bolt holes don't line up. Had HIDs and done the whole blinding people thing. They just look chavvy in the wrong car. Going to get some decent bulbs for up top and maybe some yellow HIDs for the foglights. RE: SRowells Diablo 1.8 - Jenvey 45s & OMEX600 - Piggy - 20-08-2014 I did a side by side pic in my thread with normal bosch and night breakers...the difference is like night and day.... I might not be bright, but I've heard you aren't the brightest bulb in the pack either! RE: SRowells Diablo 1.8 - Jenvey 45s & OMEX600 - jammapic - 20-08-2014 God you lot are dim. I'd give them a glowing recommendation... RE: SRowells Diablo 1.8 - Jenvey 45s & OMEX600 - Eeyore - 21-08-2014 Right. The bulbs and gauge havent arrived yet. One of my fog lights has started working again though which saves a few quid! Another odd thing has started to happen. The revs seem to be sticking randomly at between 2 and 3k. Sometimes the idle will fluctuate between 900 and 1200 RPM before smoothing itself out. Going to have to try and get a laptop with a serial port and a serial cable to check out the omex. Ill be checking my wiring and sorting out the room soon so hopefully anything obvious will come up then. RE: SRowells Diablo 1.8 - Jenvey 45s & OMEX600 - Niall - 22-08-2014 If i was you, take the bodies off and give them a thorough cleaning with some carb cleaner. It wouldn't surprise me if one or some of the bodies have gummed up causing the butterfly to stay open ever so slightly. Or are they independently linked? Ie if one was open, wouldn't they all be open? RE: SRowells Diablo 1.8 - Jenvey 45s & OMEX600 - Niall - 22-08-2014 They are all off a shared linkage ![]() RE: SRowells Diablo 1.8 - Jenvey 45s & OMEX600 - Eeyore - 22-08-2014 Yep they are all a shared linkage. No problems with it sticking today! I fitted the nightbreakers and they are really bright. havent managed to drive the car in the night time yet but looking forward to it. I also managed to get the AirCon grommet out and modify it to take the ecu loom. Left it out for now and tomorrow should see the loom finished off. Shinies arrived today! ![]() ![]() RE: SRowells Diablo 1.8 - Jenvey 45s & OMEX600 - lolsteve - 22-08-2014 Damn that's tasty looking, expensive? RE: SRowells Diablo 1.8 - Jenvey 45s & OMEX600 - welshpug - 22-08-2014 why so many boxes for one thing? RE: SRowells Diablo 1.8 - Jenvey 45s & OMEX600 - jammapic - 22-08-2014 It's 3 things welshpug. Wideband sensor, a controller and a gauge. RE: SRowells Diablo 1.8 - Jenvey 45s & OMEX600 - Eeyore - 22-08-2014 (22-08-2014, 08:57 PM)lolsteve Wrote: Damn that's tasty looking, expensive? Unfortunately yes! Bought it on Niall's recommendation and the fact I loved having the boost gauge on the estate so needed something else to look at in the petrol lol. What make? Often the ones all wrapped up in one gauge aren't very accurate. JP RE: SRowells Diablo 1.8 - Jenvey 45s & OMEX600 - Niall - 23-08-2014 Yeah the packaging is stupid! The whole kit is £140 but its a modular kit. The gauge is touch screen so you can buy add on modules (boost, oil temp etc) and plug them in then just scroll through all your readings. Ideal when you don't want a dash covered in gauges! RE: SRowells Diablo 1.8 - Jenvey 45s & OMEX600 - welshpug - 23-08-2014 I use an AEM as recommended and used by Sandy brown, they use the generic Bosch 6 wire wideband sensor. £140 is a decent price, the AEM is about the same. you don't really need a gauge specifically as you just wire it into the ecu, then look at the readout on the laptop ![]() RE: SRowells Diablo 1.8 - Jenvey 45s & OMEX600 - Niall - 23-08-2014 Yeah mines wired into the ecu so I can log it via the omex software or the PLX software. I just like to have the gauge to keep an eye incase something goes drastically wrong mid drive RE: SRowells Diablo 1.8 - Jenvey 45s & OMEX600 - Kezzieboy - 23-08-2014 Is it the gauge that's costing you all the money? We just bought a new bosch wideband lambda sensor for our formula student car which was only like £50 IIRC? RE: SRowells Diablo 1.8 - Jenvey 45s & OMEX600 - Niall - 23-08-2014 It's the controller that costs most of the money normally. £140 is about the average going price for a kit. RE: SRowells Diablo 1.8 - Jenvey 45s & OMEX600 - Eeyore - 25-08-2014 yeh its expensive but its very good. The update rate is astonishing! So its all fitted now. Need to find somewhere to mount the controller but its all working! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Been loving driving the car recently. ECU wiring still needs to be sorted out but its close now. My mate has just got a PD100 golf which i drove and didnt enjoy compared to mine. When he drove my car he said it was on rails and was like a go kart. Makes me feel better about everything ive done lol. Cant wait to get a gti6 head on and get some real power into it. |
