Early ph2 FTW, its really grown on me since owning mine

RE: THE_Liam - Diablo Phase 2 DT - THE_Liam - 05-12-2012

Just given it a service today, still need to swap the rad for the shiny one Kyle gave me, chage the stat and flush the cooling system but seeing as a stat is like gold dust round here that'll have to wait while weekend. Also got some mint phase 2 bumpers off the milkman to go on when I get round to picking them up...

THE_Liam - Diablo Phase 2 DT - THE_Liam - 13-01-2013

Right, been really lazy with this but the work starts soon, been running it for a couple of months with no issues whatsoever but now I've got Xmas out of the way and I have a bit more money I'm getting on with it. Got some mint bumpers to go on, a nearly new Nissens rad, just ordered some Gmax 60mm springs off eBay and I'm bidding on a set of Nimrods, a nice suede Sparco Corsica copy steering wheel and some new bulbs. Developed a leak from the Lucas so when milkman comes to get the beigemobiles engine next weekend I'll be having the Bosch and injectors off it, just need to get round to fitting it all and getting in touch with Dan! for some pump work Big Grin

RE: THE_Liam - Diablo Phase 2 DT - Scott - 13-01-2013

Nice one, sounds like a good few things to keep you busy over the next couple of months! Does this mean you see some fairly long term plans with this one Tongue

THE_Liam - Diablo Phase 2 DT - THE_Liam - 13-01-2013

Yeah, I'm starting to refurbish my house so I need to spend less on cars, can't think of any other car that's this cheap to run and this nice to drive and look at. Had it nearly 3 months and I'm not thinking about getting rid, that's rare with me lol

RE: THE_Liam - Diablo Phase 2 DT - Pugmarshall - 14-01-2013

Y'know... As you hadn't updated this for a while I'd just assumed you'd sold it on! Nice to see you have plans and want to hold onto it Smile

THE_Liam - Diablo Phase 2 DT - THE_Liam - 19-01-2013

Just won a set of nimrods for £42 on eBay, going to Skipton later to pick them up. Pretty badly kerbed and corroded by the looks of the pics but they'll be going to CAS coatings for silver powder coat, and the shot chinese tyres will be replaced with some Uniroyal Rainsports. Do I need spacers for nimrods?

RE: THE_Liam - Diablo Phase 2 DT - karl1989 - 19-01-2013

what tyres are on them 205/45?. you probably will need spacers and you have iner arches dont you?. also CAS coating have put there prices up my mate got quoted £24 a wheel i think

THE_Liam - Diablo Phase 2 DT - THE_Liam - 19-01-2013

Yeah but I'll be losing the arch liners when I swap the bumpers. I checked their website, it said a pound an inch but if their not too bad I might just paint them myself. Tyres are 195/45 but I'll be binning them anyway Smile

Still not sure, 40mm or 60mm with 16s?

RE: THE_Liam - Diablo Phase 2 DT - karl1989 - 19-01-2013

ah ok. give them a ring mate. they charge VAT now i was told. are you going for the 205/45s?. go 60mm Smile

THE_Liam - Diablo Phase 2 DT - THE_Liam - 19-01-2013

I dont know mate, which are best/cheapest? How low is yours?

RE: THE_Liam - Diablo Phase 2 DT - karl1989 - 19-01-2013

id got for 205/45. about 60 front and not sure on back 70-80

THE_Liam - Diablo Phase 2 DT - THE_Liam - 19-01-2013

Well, picked them up, better condition than I though! I could get away with a quick repaint, and as for the tyres there's 2 Continental sport contact 195s with about 4mm, an Avon 205 with about 4mm and a budget 205 with about 5mm, actually usable! Not bad for £42 Big Grin

Tucked away in the beigemobile with all the other bits I need to fit lol

Need this snow to f*ck off now...

RE: THE_Liam - Diablo Phase 2 DT - Pete - 19-01-2013

CAS are £1 an inch + VAT now, More if you want a metallic colour that requires laquer ect. Gotta get my Wellers re-done come the summertime.

THE_Liam - Diablo Phase 2 DT - THE_Liam - 19-01-2013

So that's £86.40? Still not bad really...

Could repaint them myself for probably £25 though...

RE: THE_Liam - Diablo Phase 2 DT - Dum-Dum - 19-01-2013

Hammerite is nearly indestructible. Its what I painted my PR1.2s in. Youll need about a can a wheel for multi spokes and you dont need lacquer or primer. Just give them a week indoors to fully harden before you get tyres put on.

RE: THE_Liam - Diablo Phase 2 DT - THE_Liam - 19-01-2013

Is that spray-on Hammerite? Sounds like a plan actually, some pretty bad kerbing on the rims though, powder coating would have covered that up I would have thought...

RE: THE_Liam - Diablo Phase 2 DT - procta - 19-01-2013

liam are you scrapping the beige shed? as iam after a bit from the parcel shelf, one of the plastic ends have come off mine so it doesnt lock into the back of the seat on one side. would you mind selling me that part off the parcel shelf?
also get your sig updated!

THE_Liam - Diablo Phase 2 DT - THE_Liam - 20-01-2013

Send me a picture of what part you want mate and you can have that for the cost of postage if it's what I think it is. It's probably beige though...
