RE: Diablo PH1 TD04 XUD 176bhp - Tom - 15-10-2012 You must of been doing something wrong to get heatsoak at 12psi haha RE: Diablo PH1 TD04 XUD 176bhp - Mattcheese31 - 15-10-2012 (15-10-2012, 07:23 PM)Tom Wrote: You must of been doing something wrong to get heatsoak at 12psi haha my thoughts too . .. . i manage pretty well @24psi . . ![]() RE: Diablo PH1 TD04 XUD 176bhp - Pompey306mark - 15-10-2012 http://www.methanol-injection.co.uk/ Apparently you can use blue coolant in the systems, as it has meth in it. I believe I read that somewhere on one of the American sites. RE: Diablo PH1 TD04 XUD 176bhp - Pugmarshall - 15-10-2012 I 'ad 'er on yeeee govner for a few minutes! As he asked where he could get meth from. If you don't want to be wasting money go fmic and forget about the extra cost. RE: Diablo PH1 TD04 XUD 176bhp - Danny2009 - 15-10-2012 It was just something different to a fmic thats cooling that's all, couldn't you rig it on a switch so when your hooning it injects or is that not possible RE: Diablo PH1 TD04 XUD 176bhp - Pompey306mark - 15-10-2012 That's how they can be set up, but what's the point when after 5mins of fun driving the top mount is over cooked. Maybe try and do something different else where on the car. Or if you need it to be cooling the charge cooler. RE: Diablo PH1 TD04 XUD 176bhp - Jenkosowls - 15-10-2012 Progresive injection is what you need ideally. shouldnt be too hard to sort it out. heck rig the VR off the semi ecu bosch's wouldnt be hard to make a little workable setup RE: Diablo PH1 TD04 XUD 176bhp - Danny2009 - 15-10-2012 Hmm ill look into it RE: Diablo PH1 TD04 XUD 176bhp - Rippthrough - 16-10-2012 Swap the top mount out for a charge cooler if you don't want boost pipes everywhere, means coolant hoses and water pump to mount though. RE: Diablo PH1 TD04 XUD 176bhp - talbotsteve - 16-10-2012 Would an Impreza vent not work better with an intercooler spray, waits for abuse bombardment....... ![]() ![]() ![]() RE: Diablo PH1 TD04 XUD 176bhp - Danny2009 - 18-10-2012 Probably but looks gash! Lol RE: Diablo PH1 TD04 XUD 176bhp - Tom - 18-10-2012 This project has inspired me to buy a big turbo! RE: Diablo PH1 TD04 XUD 176bhp chronic engine Faliure - Danny2009 - 20-10-2012 Well I was cruising between 70 and 80 on motorway tonight and something went with a loud bang followed by the car pulling me all over the road Managed to get it on the hard shoulder and when I got out was greeted with the oil slick and boot plastered in oil Pictures later ..... RE: Diablo PH1 TD04 XUD 176bhp chronic engine Faliure - Pompey306mark - 20-10-2012 That's a bit crap mate. RE: Diablo PH1 TD04 XUD 176bhp chronic engine Faliure - kernow_joe - 20-10-2012 gutted mate, picking bits of conrod off the road? mine did this after 6 days of big turbo and pump, then the new engine I think is still running with its new owner, very luck of the draw RE: Diablo PH1 TD04 XUD 176bhp chronic engine Faliure - Tom - 20-10-2012 Well oh shit. Diablo PH1 TD04 XUD 176bhp chronic engine Faliure - Jake - 21-10-2012 Sad news ![]() RE: Diablo PH1 TD04 XUD 176bhp chronic engine Faliure - Pugmarshall - 21-10-2012 Damn, not much hope for me! 160k, just fitted T25 and it gets driven! RE: Diablo PH1 TD04 XUD 176bhp chronic engine Faliure - puglove - 21-10-2012 Oh dear . These engines dont always run fine at 170bhp on STD internals ![]() RE: Diablo PH1 TD04 XUD 176bhp chronic engine Faliure - Jenkosowls - 21-10-2012 pot luck i reckon with the dhy engines iv done a good 8k on a big turbo so far. me and danny had done some driving in the car and he had noticed a tapping noise almost like poor spaced valves and the car was putting a little out white smoke on idle, then got a call a few hours later stating what had happened ![]() RE: Diablo PH1 TD04 XUD 176bhp chronic engine Faliure - Danny2009 - 21-10-2012 I've got a spare engine so that's getting ripped out today and start fitting, this is the engine that did 3k at 40psi + of boost the one that went pop after less than 800 miles and 28 psi of boost luck of the draw. Pictures ! ![]() ![]() ![]() RE: Diablo PH1 TD04 XUD 176bhp chronic engine Faliure - Dave - 21-10-2012 A sight all too familiar :p get some destructo photos up RE: Diablo PH1 TD04 XUD 176bhp chronic engine Faliure - jonny1.6 - 21-10-2012 shit 1 dude you going to put another engine in it? RE: Diablo PH1 TD04 XUD 176bhp chronic engine Faliure - zx_volcane - 21-10-2012 Damn, sorry to hear this - kinda highlights the risks of cranking up the xud on a big turbo. Shame these engine can be so seemingly hit and miss too. RE: Diablo PH1 TD04 XUD 176bhp chronic engine Faliure - Tom - 21-10-2012 But can we really call it hit and miss? He was running 40+psi lol RE: Diablo PH1 TD04 XUD 176bhp chronic engine Faliure - Danny2009 - 21-10-2012 I was running 40+ psi on the old engine on the engine that shat itself I was running 28psi. Had a quick look today put my hand through the hole in the sump and can feel both rods but the oil pump is hanging out.... Guessing the oil pump let go and not the rods Oh well started ripping the engine out my old car ready to transplant it into the ph1 should be back on the road next week |
