I'll see how much a courier is mate Smile

THE_Liam - Project Beige - THE_Liam - 16-08-2012

Opinions needed. I'm not a fan of the green, and the paint is fairly shabby anyway, but I could get my hands on a load of matt black paint and a roller...

RE: THE_Liam - Project Beige - C.A.R. - 16-08-2012

IMO it's a shabby car that cost you £250 and it's still not the car you want it to be. In leymans terms, it owes you f*ckall.

Now I'd take pride in what it is, and not change a thing. Get some matching hubcaps or paint the steelies with some Halfords branded silver paint.

Polish up the exterior, only spend money on a bucket and sponge mate. Anything you spend on it is literally money wasted.

As it stands, you have a retro car with a little bit of a funky appeal, you can sell that on for £250, 300, 350 with ease depending on how you dress it up and advertise it. Painting it matt black will instantly drop it's value to that of scrap, and it will make the car look like a heap.

RE: THE_Liam - Project Beige - Toms306 - 16-08-2012

Are all L regs beige?

Also, I agree with them, don't ruin it with matt black. Its lasted nearly 20 years in that colour, a little longer wont do any harm. Wink

THE_Liam - Project Beige - THE_Liam - 16-08-2012

Hmm, I'm not sure. If I have to drive around in this for a few month I might have to do something to keep it amusing. I could always just stick those 60mm springs on it with some Harriers...

The pump is definitely getting gov modded with a ground pin though, because it'll probably be transplanted to my next DT if i decide to get one and it appears to have a T2 on it as well. Could just keep it sleeper?

No, my first Ph1 Miami Dturbo had a normal dash lol

RE: THE_Liam - Project Beige - C.A.R. - 16-08-2012

Just keep it simple.

I'd fill it with retro shit. Big fat fake mobile phone -
[Image: 80s_retro_phone_style_iphone_case_2.jpg]

Get one of those hula-hula ladies in a grass skirt for the parcel shelf. And a nodding dog.

Beaded seat covers.

Etc. You know the drill!

RE: THE_Liam - Project Beige - Kezzieboy - 16-08-2012

Epic sleeper potential!

RE: THE_Liam - Project Beige - Matt - 16-08-2012

Beige.

Retro sleeper ftw!

It's a good thing I'm off for a beer tonight, haven't got a boost gauge yet but I'm so tempted to grab the Allen keys and acquire moar booooost...

RE: THE_Liam - Project Beige - HDIkyle - 16-08-2012

That seller must be having a laugh!! See retro car designers had it right, Not like the chrome shit they have starting creeping back in lately.

RE: THE_Liam - Project Beige - Ruan - 17-08-2012

God that's so absolutely horrific it's actually fecking awesome.

Missing hubcaps just add to the effect. Leave it as it is, straight pipe, more boost. Win.

Already drawn up plans for a straight pipe, got some 3" mild steel tube in the shed that should work. Not enough for a full system but enough to go straight through from just after the mid box I think...

Got some 60mm springs as well Big Grin

RE: THE_Liam - Project Beige - Ruan - 17-08-2012

Pfft, sod the midbox! get it chronic piped all the way back!

THE_Liam - Project Beige - THE_Liam - 17-08-2012

Got a bigger priority just now, the rad has popped a leak lol

RE: THE_Liam - Project Beige - cwspellowe - 17-08-2012

How much for the beige dash? I feel naughty

RE: THE_Liam - Project Beige - THE_Liam - 17-08-2012

Free if you come and swap it for a black one yourself, because I can't be arsed lol

The rad is leaking near the top so it holds enough water to get around, I've stuck some Radweld in there for now, nasty stuff but it's only temporary, looks like Kyle has a rad Smile

RE: THE_Liam - Project Beige - Ruan - 18-08-2012

When you get your new rad, stick a dishwasher tablet in and flush it through, it works bloody well surprisingly!

I've heard that before actually, I suppose the pipe work of a dishwasher and the pipe work of a car cooling system aren't that different really...

The radweld didn't work, but 2 eggs whipped and poured in worked a treat! Got a new rad off Kyle but no time to fit it, hopefully the eggs will hold for a few days lol

RE: THE_Liam - Project Beige - WiNgNuTz - 22-08-2012

Any news on whether you want those harriers of mine mate? If you dont want them, they're destined for the scrappy.

Nah your ok mate, would be about 55 quid postage Sad

RE: THE_Liam - Project Beige - procta - 22-08-2012

not bad buy liam, to sort the hardcore 70s/80s beige, just get your arse down to the scrappy and buy the interior out of a later 306. shouldnt be a pain in the arse to do. but then again the beige really goes with you as you like your retro motors,

Not bothered really mate, it's only a stopgap while I find a nice HDi. Goes well for a cheap runabout, an it's nice to do 180 miles on a third of a tank Big Grin

RE: THE_Liam - Project Beige - THE_Liam - 27-08-2012

Right, had a slight problem. The rad let go, so I decided to sort it out Sunday morning with the rad Kyle gave me. Annoyingly the rad wouldn't fit so I've had to order a new one off eBay, not bad for £36.50 posted brand new though Smile

Basically, every DT rad I've seen has one little hose connected to the bottom of the expansion tank... Mine has two...

It's on it's way, but this leaves me in a bit of a shite situation. I'm going to Cornwall on Saturday and the 306 won't be ready, so rather than not go I've had to rent something to get me there...

A 1.2 Corsa Sad Sad Sad
