Yeah its a stock pulley on the charger and larger ones aren't available. Luckily when the original pulley was designed there was a CAD drawing made for it so just needed to modify that and fire it over to the machine shop. They start producing heat at higher boost levels, not necessarily higher rpm. RE: Guess the BHP - Non 306 Content - Paul_13 - 18-06-2015 Am I missing something here or are you not running an intercooler? Im pretty sure he said on the 1st page its running charge cooler RE: Guess the BHP - Non 306 Content - Piggy - 18-06-2015 (18-06-2015, 07:13 AM)Seb_Ryan Wrote:(18-06-2015, 06:53 AM)Piggy Wrote:(18-06-2015, 06:16 AM)Paul_13 Wrote: Am I missing something here or are you not running an intercooler? I wondered that, but it must be one NEAT package tbh, excellent work if it is in there RE: Guess the BHP - Non 306 Content - PartyJas - 18-06-2015 Yep.. Jaguar XJ-R charge cooler mated to chopped down C20XE manifold. It's all very neat and at first glance you probably wouldn't even notice the supercharger as it sits under the inlet / charge cooler assembly. Made 296 BHP at 7000 Rpm (Corrected flywheel figure) & 235 lb / ft torque. Very flat torque curve. Making 200 lb / ft of torque by 2700 Rpm and still pulling over 200 lb / ft at 7000 Rpm. Very happy with that. RE: Guess the BHP - Non 306 Content *Results Are In* - Paul_13 - 04-07-2015 Nice! RE: Guess the BHP - Non 306 Content *Results Are In* - Chris HDI - 04-07-2015 That is absolutely sweet mate! That is mega, must be a hoot to drive with that kind of torque curve RE: Guess the BHP - Non 306 Content *Results Are In* - Poodle - 04-07-2015 That's awesome! Video still required. ![]() RE: Guess the BHP - Non 306 Content *Results Are In* - toseland - 05-07-2015 nice figures.. looks epic fun tbh.. i dont see what the point of "corrected flywheel figures" that the british are bloody well obsessed with, it is almost completely impossible to work this out from wheel HP even with the best of intentions.. as unless you have taken the box off, had it built and tested there is no way to tell exactly what the losses through the transmission, between rollers and tyre are,, etc etc.. RE: Guess the BHP - Non 306 Content *Results Are In* - PartyJas - 06-07-2015 I agree toseland and i would prefer to see a wheel bhp figure. Its that torque curve I'm interested though in and the main reason I went supercharged rather than turbo. This is a pretty 'safe' state of tune too. Running a max of 10psi boost and a standard charger body and the limiter was set to 7000rpm. It will keep me entertained for now but may look at porting the charger next year. No video I'm afraid guys. The appointment at Northampton motorsport rolling road got brought forward last minute so it was a bit of a rush to get the car there and the camera / phone got forgotten. I'm picking the car up Friday hopefully so will get some vids up of me 'breaking it in' next week. |
