Presume its just to stop dpf's and cats etc clogging up. I just used whatever the stuff in my garage was haha. Gonna see how it goes Can't remember, but it wasn't a trivial reason like that. RE: Anyone used 2-stroke oil in a HDI? - kee616 - 05-05-2015 Back when i had my HDI i used a few bottles of 2 stroke on it, as others said it seemed to smooth it out ![]() RE: Anyone used 2-stroke oil in a HDI? - Deangatt - 05-05-2015 This is a must do ? RE: Anyone used 2-stroke oil in a HDI? - highwayman306 - 05-05-2015 No mate, this is down to the owner. ![]() There seems to be loads of positives for adding 2 stroke in your tank, you just have to make the decision yourself. I personally would do it and I am going to soon ![]() RE: Anyone used 2-stroke oil in a HDI? - Mattcheese31 - 05-05-2015 Used to do it with the last xud, bit of extra lube for the pump can't hurt to my mind ![]() RE: Anyone used 2-stroke oil in a HDI? - highwayman306 - 05-05-2015 Its supposed to lower emissions, increase mpg (marginally), lube injectors and pump leading to quieter running...the list goes on. Im thinking of getting a box of Stihl-Saw shots to chuck in ![]() http://www.lsengineers.co.uk/stihl-2-stroke-oil-10-x-100ml.html, bit pricey really but I know a guy there ![]() http://www.lsengineers.co.uk/stihl-hp-super-2-stroke-oil-100ml.html ash free this stuff is, but high price. RE: Anyone used 2-stroke oil in a HDI? - titch - 05-05-2015 Thats the stuff i have been putting in mine for ages now its all been good, my injectors were really noisey before i started using it and i have noticed a difference they are quieter. RE: Anyone used 2-stroke oil in a HDI? - td163 - 06-05-2015 I have put my first lot (200ml) into a full tank of diesel about 5 days ago after reading up and i don't know if its just me or placebo effect but it definitely sounds smoother under load! either way I am very happy. What I used: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1x-Comma-Two-Wheel-2-Stroke-Mineral-1-Litre-Low-Oil-Ash-Motorbike-Scooter-Moped-/231462222904?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item35e4393c38 RE: Anyone used 2-stroke oil in a HDI? - Deangatt - 06-05-2015 I take it yous keep putting it in every week then or whenever you fill the tank? RE: Anyone used 2-stroke oil in a HDI? - td163 - 06-05-2015 (06-05-2015, 01:51 AM)Deangatt Wrote: I take it yous keep putting it in every week then or whenever you fill the tank? This is the first tank I have put it in mate but from what I have read from the guys on here that use it you do have to do it every tank. Its not to bad for me I only use about 2 tanks a month. RE: Anyone used 2-stroke oil in a HDI? - Deangatt - 06-05-2015 Think it's time I started to do it aswell going to get a bottle an fill her up at the weekend RE: Anyone used 2-stroke oil in a HDI? - td163 - 06-05-2015 Good man! I am happy with how mine runs with it. ![]() RE: Anyone used 2-stroke oil in a HDI? - Frosty - 07-05-2015 Im tempted to give this a try. Does it make much difference using mineral or semi synthetic? RE: Anyone used 2-stroke oil in a HDI? - highwayman306 - 07-05-2015 I read semi, but heard others saying mineral does the same...? RE: Anyone used 2-stroke oil in a HDI? - JTaylor2005 - 07-05-2015 Heard mineral burns better cus it's basically just thicker diesel haha RE: Anyone used 2-stroke oil in a HDI? - highwayman306 - 07-05-2015 ![]() ![]() RE: Anyone used 2-stroke oil in a HDI? - cully - 07-05-2015 semi lmao!!!..... that was made as it dont oil spark plugs so bad as mineral dont think you will have that issue on a diesel the main thing to look for is the low ash! basicly so it burns with no ash residue to clog rings and other stuff RE: Anyone used 2-stroke oil in a HDI? - highwayman306 - 07-05-2015 I thought semi synth was low ash? Or most of them anyway? RE: Anyone used 2-stroke oil in a HDI? - td163 - 08-05-2015 I'm using Mineral low ash stuff ![]() RE: Anyone used 2-stroke oil in a HDI? - Iceman299 - 08-05-2015 What are the effects of using more than 300ml/tank? Curious RE: Anyone used 2-stroke oil in a HDI? - Toms306 - 08-05-2015 Any brands/deals that anyone can recommend? Gonna try it in my next tank as well... Curious waste money and cause's smoke RE: Anyone used 2-stroke oil in a HDI? - Alan_M - 08-05-2015 Just gambled on a £4 bottle of low ash mineral oil whilst in Focus DIY. Only had about a 1/3rd tank left, so chucked in about 100ml, but it is a bit difficult to put in the filler straight from the bottle. It did have noticeable results though, less smoke, less injector rattle and hell of a lot more perkiness! RE: Anyone used 2-stroke oil in a HDI? - cully - 08-05-2015 use a coca cola bottle the end fits into the filler nice and if you fill the bottle to the lower label line its around 210ml [attachment=23041] RE: Anyone used 2-stroke oil in a HDI? - lolsteve - 08-05-2015 Drink vast quantities of the 2 stroke oil and then piss down the filler hole.
