Kit cars don't go that cheap, even a shit Dutton with no MOT goes for over a grand.

on ebay in the cars section, clearly proof that it's a car and therefore valid.

That audi is pretty badass, Poodle!

And a mate of mine has a MGF based kitbag that's pretty rapid, and cost less than a grand.

A very rough C20LET coupled with a sponge cake F28 Corsa B. Old, rough and extremely dangerous, but f*ck me, they are lightining. Just add a burberry cap and gell dat fringe!

Magic tree G meter also wub wub

RE: Fastest car for under £2000 challenge... - Piggy - 30-11-2014

Kit cars aint that cheap tbh. If it was £2000 it would need a lot of work!
That audi ticks all the boxes tbh. Bet with a straight through and a map it would easily to 155+

RE: Fastest car for under £2000 challenge... - toseland - 30-11-2014

is it wrong that i am considering buying that audi?

RE: Fastest car for under £2000 challenge... - Kezzieboy - 30-11-2014

Been pondering around this question, I reckon a Saab HOT turbo wouldn't do badly, you can pick them up for a little over a grand now, and drove my dads remapped 330d today, dunnno what they go for now, but it's got some serious grunt, would certainly reach the 155 limit anyway.

Seen a couple big old lexus' too, which are pretty tempting.

RE: Fastest car for under £2000 challenge... - Poodle - 03-12-2014

I've just realised we're going about this all wrong - surely we just need to buy an ex-hire car.

Mate of mine has the perfect example. Saab 9000 Turbo bought for £310 with MOT off eBay, budget stands at about £1700 and last dyno was 515bhp. Basically just bigger turbo, bigger injectors, high lift cams and a straight through. Standard internals though so it will explode at some point soon but he already has a spare engine ready.

RE: Fastest car for under £2000 challenge... - Matt-Rallye - 03-12-2014

I was gonna say saab turbo barge. good luck buying a turbocharged scooby for 2k!

Might aswell just buy a saxo vts for £400 quid and have a £1600 quid budget to turbo the fucker.

RE: Fastest car for under £2000 challenge... - Pete - 03-12-2014

Subarus are available for about 1k upwards round here, mostly rusty chav boxes with shit wrc stickers for that money though.

RE: Fastest car for under £2000 challenge... - Kezzieboy - 03-12-2014

See, I've been looking and you can get a decent saab turbo, with 200+bhp, manual gearbox, loaded with kit for comfortably under 2 grand...may have found my next car!

Or like my mate did you could get one for less than £500 and spend the rest making it stupidly quick...

RE: Fastest car for under £2000 challenge... - silverzx - 04-12-2014

In all seriousness... Around £1650... £350 left over to play with... 270bhp... RWD... LSD... 4 Pots... Turbo...

270hp? I thought this didn't even have a stage 1 map yet.. that's an awful lot of power over stock.

RE: Fastest car for under £2000 challenge... - Kezzieboy - 04-12-2014

What's the insurance like on that? I figure it'll be cheaper on a 'sensible' but fast car, but need to run some quotes. Coincidentally, some old dude at work has a flame red zenki exactly like that, stock except for some alloys!

Liam, only problem with that is that all the tuning is just burning money, if I buy something that's fast as standard then it'll hold its value.
