RE: Williams' Track '6 - 7057sam - 09-06-2015 Looked great on track.dunno if I was on the same session but don't think you passed me which is a achievement because you looked bloody quick ![]() RE: Williams' Track '6 - Lwilliams - 09-06-2015 Thanks JJ and sam ![]() The R888's definitely grip more but there was a downside to this that made me slower ![]() The biggest downfall was coming out of corners or high speed corners, my theory would be that the outside tyre was gripping more than the old, allowing for more weight transfer allowing the inside to spin more as we still don't have a diff yet "/ This was the bane of the day "/. Plus we were on the SG compound R888's which I'm pretty sure are slower in the hot weather. I'm not saying any of this to make excuses etc... just telling people in case they're interested for their cars ![]() RE: Williams' Track '6 - 7057sam - 09-06-2015 Where you orginally running gg compound? I take it gg is medium and sg is soft? Looking on 306gti.com today have you Brought a charged 306 or am I thinking of Somone different RE: Williams' Track '6 - Ruan - 09-06-2015 Proper quick this car!!! Watched at various points through the track, you were absolutely hacking through Camp corner, there were definitely some kahunas being used to be that close to the limit there ![]() RE: Williams' Track '6 - Lwilliams - 09-06-2015 We were running AD08's Which ain't a bad tyre, but seemed to drop off the more you pushed the heat I'm assuming. Yeah the SG is soft basically tore up about half of the tread they were brand new ![]() An yup that's me :L on my dads account will eventually transfer it over to 306OC, just wanted to start it up on there as more people on there seem to restore they're cars, so I was looking for tips on redoing the engine bay. Thanks Ruan, Camp was most likely my favorite corner of the day ![]() ![]() RE: Williams' Track '6 - Ruan - 09-06-2015 I could definitely hear "barp... barp... BARRRRRRP" going round there absolutely fighting for grip!!! RE: Williams' Track '6 - welshpug - 09-06-2015 ad08's are a better tyre, but as with any tyre yiu need the right camber and spring rate RE: Williams' Track '6 - Lwilliams - 09-06-2015 It was a mixture of me and my dad driving he the one that's barping all the time I try to be smooth ![]() I don't think the ad08's are better for grip maybe the 48's but I haven't tried them yet. RE: Williams' Track '6 - Lwilliams - 12-06-2015 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EtC-0QXUMtM Last session mount is shit btw RE: Williams' Track '6 Bit of weight saving ;) + shorted wheel base - Lwilliams - 20-06-2015 Hmmmm t cut? RE: Williams' Track '6 Bit of weight saving ;) + shorted wheel base - cully - 20-06-2015 Oh Bugger! do you want a moonstone shell befor i go to mad in stripping it ![]() RE: Williams' Track '6 Bit of weight saving ;) + shorted wheel base - Lwilliams - 20-06-2015 Thanks for the offer mate, crank seals were on their way out anyway 140 thousand miles so... Over the winter strip it down buy another 6 and transfer stuff over.. plus at the moment need to sort the low boost out RE: Williams' Track '6 Bit of weight saving ;) + shorted wheel base - Niall - 20-06-2015 Oh shit! Everyone ok? What happened? And most importantly was it you or your old man? ![]() RE: Williams' Track '6 Bit of weight saving ;) + shorted wheel base - adam b - 20-06-2015 That's a proper hit... You'll be wanting a new cage I suspect - looks like it did you proud there Hope whoever was in it is ok? RE: Williams' Track '6 Bit of weight saving ;) + shorted wheel base - Piggy - 20-06-2015 NO! I properly love this car! what happened!? You ok!? RE: Williams' Track '6 Bit of weight saving ;) + shorted wheel base - Stef205 - 20-06-2015 oh shit! looks like the cage did a good job! still looks straight apart from the feet. RE: Williams' Track '6 Bit of weight saving ;) + shorted wheel base - Lwilliams - 20-06-2015 Yeah roll cage is still straight, foot is bent up a bit on one... I'm sure a hammer will fix that ![]() Thanks for every one asking yeah me an my brother are fine I got a bruise that's about it ![]() Cage is amazing, an yes it was me ![]() Got the video of what happened as well will put it up soon ![]() Out all morning on r888's swapped to the ad08's and they are definitely better for our car its just the fronts get up to temp way before the rears unfortunately, one of the quickest corners, stupid from me really. Grass was a little damp which didn't help things RE: Williams' Track '6 Bit of weight saving ;) + shortened wheel base - C2K - 20-06-2015 Shit that's a proper fender bender! Good result from the cage. Would suggest getting the welds on the rear section ndt inspected before you put it in the next car for peace of mind. RE: Williams' Track '6 Bit of weight saving ;) + shortened wheel base - Lwilliams - 21-06-2015 Good shout I'll get some fpi spray on stuff from work ![]() RE: Williams' Track '6 Bit of weight saving ;) + shortened wheel base - Piggy - 21-06-2015 see cullys pics/videos from earlier this year on camp, losing the rear with ad08s due them being too cold still what pressures were you running? I found I had to really drop mine at the rear to keep it in check RE: Williams' Track '6 Bit of weight saving ;) + shortened wheel base - Ben_w - 21-06-2015 Wow........glad you got out OK fella. Looks like the cage did its job.... RE: Williams' Track '6 Bit of weight saving ;) + shortened wheel base - Lwilliams - 21-06-2015 27 something like that was going to get them up to temp come in and adjust obviously didn't get that far ![]() My injury ![]() RE: Williams' Track '6 Bit of weight saving ;) + shortened wheel base - cully - 21-06-2015 was this at Camp corner at castle combe? it spat you outward into the armco? glad your OK fella could of been a lot different I feal lucky now! i was spat inward now across the infield my pictures are here ![]() http://306oc.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?tid=13188&pid=472904#pid472904 RE: Williams' Track '6 Bit of weight saving ;) + shortened wheel base - adam b - 21-06-2015 Hmm... I've been using ad08r for 9 months, quite a bit at combe. Find they heat up well even on the back. Running them at 30ns, 31os rear, 28ns, 29os front. They need a lap or so to come in, but then worked on the sprint really well too. RE: Williams' Track '6 Bit of weight saving ;) + shortened wheel base - Lwilliams - 21-06-2015 Shorter track 2nd lap in I can assure you it was cold tires haha Sorry cull didn't see your post it was at pembrey yeah thanks RE: Williams' Track '6 Bit of weight saving ;) + shortened wheel base - adam b - 21-06-2015 Yeah I can see that. Back end was a lot more wayward at pembray on the same pressures. RE: Williams' Track '6 Bit of weight saving ;) + shortened wheel base - 7057sam - 21-06-2015 Just seen this, glad your ok mate RE: Williams' Track '6 Bit of weight saving ;) + shortened wheel base - procta - 21-06-2015 you binned that good and proper!
