Haha top work, engine out before 7am is a fine way to start any day!

RE: Matts cossack S16.. Engine out, interior in! - Matt-Rallye - 24-06-2014

Well the inlet / intake system on an S16 is one of the wrost ideas i think i have ever seen! very clever how it all works but completely over engineered and needless! Sorry too say that renault had a far more reliable way of in essence doing the exact same thing!

Should of just had a twin butterfly throttle body and left the curled inlet the sa me but with larger ports and valves. No need for seperate exhaust ports either.

Anyways i digress... pics!..

I am genuinely thinking of upgrading it too a gti6 manifold, as i believe it would genuinely be a good upgrade for the engine!? thoughts?

Blue carpet, red fleck leather seats, grey body.

It's.. Different..! Smile

RE: Matts cossack S16.. Engine out, interior in! - Matt-Rallye - 26-06-2014

As far as i can see all the S16's came with blue carpet, i thought it was abit odd but man in person it actually works quite well Big Grin

RE: Matts cossack S16.. Engine out, interior in! - Frosty - 26-06-2014

Some good progress here chap. Good to see you got some proper S16 seats in it. Though it would be better with the blue but can't go wrong with getting these seats for free and they are hard to come by in both colours these days. S16 seats are by far the best and most comfy seats that Peugeot put in the 306s

As for the blue carpet I thought that it only come in sigma's but obviously not unless someone put it into this. I have had it in 2 sigma ph1s I've had 1 being a S16 and the other a xsi. I had a ph1 gti6 in cossack grey but that had standard grey carpet

RE: Matts cossack S16.. Engine out, interior in! - Matt-Rallye - 26-06-2014

Seems too have been an S16 thing regarding the carpet Smile Engine is built up just need to put gearbox on and wiring then drop it back in

RE: Matts cossack S16.. Engine out, interior in! - Frosty - 26-06-2014

Neither of the 2 diablo S16 have blue carpet though. I think Peugeot just like to confuse us

RE: Matts cossack S16.. Engine out, interior in! - Matt-Rallye - 26-06-2014

was it an optional extra perhaps?

RE: Matts cossack S16.. Engine out, interior in! - ozonehostile - 26-06-2014

I thought all s16 came with the blue carpets too :/

Yet another wonderful yet random Peugeot quirk haha

RE: Matts cossack S16.. Engine out, interior in! - Frosty - 26-06-2014

I duno. I thought that S16s only come in a few colours but i have seen diablo, cossack, sigma, black and white

RE: Matts cossack S16.. Engine out, interior in! - RetroPug - 26-06-2014

Not all S16s came with blue carpets I think, but gti-6s didn't come with it at all.

Re: Matts cossack S16.. Engine out, interior in! - kentiiboii - 26-06-2014

No not all s16s had blue carpets. Some xsi had blue carpets, some of the 5 doors also had 5 door blue carpet. Mattcheese has 5door blue carpet in his sigma dturbo.

I thought this but apparently it upsets the ecu :/ thinking if its worth trying a gti6 ecu on it also!?

Or if the standard ecu can be mapped too suit the inlet?

Anyways i have ordered a valeo clutch kit, gates cambelt and valeo waterpump along with a fram oil / filters and castrol oil. Smile should be reliable for a while at least!!

RE: Matts cossack S16.. Engine out, interior in! - Matt-Rallye - 14-08-2014

Figured i should update this somewhat.

Car is still sat in bits, due to starting a new job and renting a bigger unit to house the rallye and other projects, i have been seriously slacking with this!

Currently awaiting the clutch and cambelt kit before everything can go back together.

Also had all my bits powdercoated so have been slowly building what i can of the engine Smile shall update with pictures later.

RE: Matts cossack S16.. Engine out, interior in! - aggyj17 - 14-08-2014

Only red s16's had a grey carpet every other color came with a blue carpet. Random really as they had the red material from the 205 so why couldn't they just use that for a red carpet lol :-(

RE: Matts cossack S16.. Engine out, interior in! - Orta - 14-08-2014

Loving the s16. Rarest 306 model now?

RE: Matts cossack S16.. Engine out, interior in! - RetroPug - 14-08-2014

In case you need bits, there's a guy on the gti6 forum breaking an S16 with a couple of engines for sale.

RE: Matts cossack S16.. Engine out, interior in! - Matt-Rallye - 16-08-2014

Thanks RetroPug i might check it out Smile theres a few niggly bits i need!

Here is the rallye and S16's new home

No problems.
Jealous of your man cave! Big Grin

RE: Matts cossack S16.. Engine out, interior in! - James - 16-08-2014

Keep the original mani, hardly makes a massive difference and it's what makes that engine unique and quirky.

RE: Matts cossack S16.. Engine out, interior in! - ADV_93 - 16-08-2014

10/10 best colour for phase 1

RE: Matts cossack S16.. Engine out, interior in! - procta - 16-08-2014
