I did this aswell... But I got the c/l going after I deadlocked myself into the car... I reall should of wrote down which colours were which in case it helped you!!

remove the metal bracket both sides holding the dash in(has the bonnet catch leaver bolted to it)
unplug from the doors and pull the plugs into the car
if its a 4 door pull the grommet out from the door pillar and unplug the rear doors
On ph2 unplug the central locking unit under drivers seat
unplug the loom from behind the fuse box, white and possibly a blue one too
lift up the side of the fount carpet (both sides)and pull out the loom

You will see what i mean when you start pulling it out and just put it back in the same

Not the same on a ph3. It's all part of the dash loom.

Iv just fitted a Ph3 Hdi loom in my Ph2 and it was near identical set-up, the only diffrence is the Rf remote has got the control unit above the ashtray and the Ir system has a gray relay box under the drivers seat

I'm going to have to do this as my loom has now broken, luckily the windows are up though. Do I need to remove the dash to get brackets out?
