RE: mercades c250 gt20 - Dum-Dum - 02-01-2014 Another one from this corner of the earth. We really need to sort a Bicester meet when I'm back from holiday. RE: mercades c250 gt20 - Anton - 02-01-2014 I'm around too ![]() RE: mercades c250 gt20 - rryan - 03-01-2014 ah lots of local people, a meet would be good ive got a scooby Td04 on at the moment, but i think i got lucky when i guessimated the angle, and welded the exhaust. ill have a look at rickys thread. RE: mercades c250 gt20 - silverzx - 03-01-2014 Something like this www.ebay.co.uk/itm/321233914589 RE: mercades c250 gt20 - Piggy - 03-01-2014 Good link there...handy that... some turbos have the V band flange on them already so das is goot RE: mercades c250 gt20 - Chris_90 - 03-01-2014 So can you weld that v band thing to the turbo? Looks good idea saves the messing of trying to get it at the right angles RE: mercades c250 gt20 - rryan - 03-01-2014 i think the v band on the gt20 is slightly bigger than 3 inch (not a common size), from mercades the correct clamp for that turbo is around £15 quid, so i could buy that and then make a custom band to weld to my three inch elbow. RE: mercades c250 gt20 - Ricky - 03-01-2014 I used a 3" elbow with v band clamp, had to grind down the mating surface on the turbo for the clamp to fit though. I also used a TD04 actuator aswell. I had mine on a dyno but made poor results because it was very de tuned because I didn't want to blow it up, I've seen how quickly the EGT's rise on boost. RE: mercades c250 gt20 - rryan - 03-01-2014 heres i few pictures sorry for hi-jacking your thread by the way yeah i thought i might have to square off the turbo face. so you used a 3 inch v band clamp? RE: mercades c250 gt20 - Ricky - 03-01-2014 That's identical to how mine was. RE: mercades c250 gt20 - anto - 18-02-2014 Ive just acquired one of these Merc C250td turbos and it is confusing the hell out of me lol The id plate says the following; GT20 A6050960599 454 156 - 1 AL0001 A/R Turbine side is .38 A/R Compressor side is .51 You would think it has to be a GT20 of some variation but the dieselavante site gives it as a GT25c based on the A6050960599 nr so it is contradicting itself. If it is a GT20 has anyone a clue as to what derivative of GT20 it is? RE: mercades c250 gt20 - Chris_90 - 18-02-2014 It was said some were that gt25c is bascily a gt20 just the old code for it. RE: mercades c250 gt20 - anto - 20-02-2014 Few measurements taken from the turbo i have; Comp Exducer - 52mm Comp Inducer - 40mm Turbine Exducer - 52mm Turbine Exducer - 40mm Rough measurements, only had a tape measure, my uncle nicked my calipers. Does that sound like a GT2052s, or at least a version of one? RE: mercades c250 gt20 - Tom - 20-02-2014 Yep... RE: mercades c250 gt20 - mark306 - 20-02-2014 I have this turbo on my C250TD GT20 A6050960599 454 156 - 1 AL0001 I'm trying to find a rebuild kit for it as the bearings have way too much play in them. Anyone know where I can get a kit from ? I did order one from ebay but the seller supplied a GT15-25 universal kit (which just doesn't fit) and now can't supply the right kit. I even sent him the full part number before ordering. RE: mercades c250 gt20 - anto - 21-02-2014 Contact Garrett and see if they provide a service kit for it? RE: mercades c250 gt20 - Uberderv - 22-02-2014 I've bought a kit of these before- Melett Limited Unit N Zenith Park Whaley Road Barnsley S75 1HT United Kingdom Main Sales Line +44 (0)1226 320939 Wasnt your turbo but i am sure they could sort one out ![]() |
