Re: Keyrings. - Kezzieboy - 05-03-2012 ![]() Car keys, flat keys are on a separate keyring on their own. Mostly pointless shit/souvenirs but got the all important blood donor keyring (O-, hence why they're constantly badgering me for my blood!) Re: Keyrings. - WiNgNuTz - 05-03-2012 My keys, use every one of those keys as well! ![]() ![]() Re: Keyrings. - declantg - 05-03-2012 WiNgNuTz Wrote:My keys, use every one of those keys as well! why do you have a calculator! ![]() Re: Keyrings. - WiNgNuTz - 05-03-2012 Lol, it's not a calculator, its the "secure key" for my online banking. ![]() Re: Keyrings. - declantg - 05-03-2012 Now i feel stupid... I hate things dangling about when driving so house keys are separate and same only a hoop keyring on that. This, i hate hearing them rattle around Re: Keyrings. - cully - 05-03-2012 work keys feel such a jailer with this lot chinking round the corridors glad i only need them when im oncall ! there are other keys to but we arn't allowed to carry them unless we sign for them Re: Keyrings. - Niall - 05-03-2012 cully Wrote:work keys feel such a jailer with this lot chinking round the corridors Gent MCP key? Unlucky if you have to do the test on them bastards! Re: Keyrings. - cully - 05-03-2012 yes yes all makes of break glass's though loads of hospitals nothing is standard some are easy some are just PITA mainly just replace glass/detectors out of hours and reset systems testing is for the day boys Re: Keyrings. - Niall - 05-03-2012 cully Wrote:yes yes all makes of break glass's though loads of hospitals nothing is standard some are easy some are just PITA Yeah I did think it odd that you would be doing the weekly test. You realise your not technically supposed to change heads right? Re: Keyrings. - cully - 05-03-2012 i am if I'm authorised but tell me why i shouldnt be?? Re: Keyrings. - Niall - 05-03-2012 cully Wrote:i am if I'm authorised Well because I'm assuming that you don't have a test kit to check there working? also if you remove a head on a gent sometimes all the addresses can jump one place meaning nothing is labeled up right. Unfortunately big organisations seem to not like the idea of getting People in to do these things. Anyone can take a head down and replace it but wether it works and works properly is a different story! (btw if you have had training on all of this, ignore me lol) Re: Keyrings. - mark_airey - 05-03-2012 Neil Wrote:cully Wrote:i am if I'm authorised Unless its a conventional system and not an intelligent one....... and then as long as you replace the head properly there won't be any problem, clearly you should test it once installed to make sure that it is working correctly though ![]() Re: Keyrings. - cully - 05-03-2012 the main hospital use's a static system using severel type of detectors some are base encoded others are head encoded by dip switchs this system soon tells if the heads arnt right ![]() most of the outbuildings are alarmtec panels which are zoned and use older 2kc's Re: Keyrings. - Niall - 05-03-2012 mark_airey Wrote:] Analogue addressable you mean? Yeah if it's a conventional then you just have to test it to ensure it works. . Plus I can't see a hospital running a conventional system lol Re: Keyrings. - Niall - 05-03-2012 cully Wrote:the main hospital use's a static system using severel type of detectors some are base encoded others are head encoded by dip switchs this system soon tells if the heads arnt right If you have an Apollo (base encoded) or something like a hochiki (dill switch encoded) you will be alright. Just saying if it's a gent, they can jump addresses. There bloody horrible things! And just because your installing a new detector doesnt mean it will work. I've had that problem many a time! If I was you, ask them to send you on a basic FIA course because if your signing the book to say you have replaced a head, your legally responisbile and if something goes tits up and there's a fire, there is a chance you can be prosecuted! Just need to cover your own back mate. Re: Keyrings. - Niall - 05-03-2012 Oh I see what your saying. Yes that can be done but it's not really a preferred way to go. Oh and there's no such thing as an intelligent panel. Your thinking of an addressable mate (which could be classed as intelligent but I'm just being picky lol) Re: Keyrings. - cully - 05-03-2012 i believe the gent system is in a new build which i have not seen yet maybe i should ask to see it and quiz them a bit ! yup Apollo and descovery heads got a bloody van full outside of all different types think mark means the old zoned panels which the detectors are wired on a zone loop with end of line diodes ![]() Re: Keyrings. - mark_airey - 05-03-2012 Correct Cully, I was ![]() Neil Wrote:Oh I see what your saying. Yes that can be done but it's not really a preferred way to go. Mate, I spent 4 years installing and servicing fire and security alarms....................intelligent/addressable = the same thing (panel knowing which detector and where opposed to just which zone it is) Re: Keyrings. - Niall - 05-03-2012 cully Wrote:i believe the gent system is in a new build which i have not seen yet Ah fair enough. if you have apollos and discos running off the same panel, I'm going to make an assumption and say its a morely panel? If so, your pretty safe with these. Just gents can be a right PITA if you don't know what your doing with them and sometimes they can hide all sorts of issues. They scare me whenever I have to work on them! Seriously though try and get on a course or avoid doing it. By doing these works your self, your saying your competent and if something goes wrong, you could get done for manslaughter. We almost had a case of this at work a few years ago. Luckily the engineer got sacked and a bloody good telling off and that was it! If you want, I will pm you my number and if you want any help, just ask. I can also send you some documents that might help. Re: Keyrings. - Niall - 05-03-2012 mark_airey Wrote:Correct Cully, I was It's what I do now. I'm just picky with that sort of thing! Didn't realise that's what you used to do! |
