darren if you just ask them to paint it "deep black" thats just basically pitch black it doesnt need mixing and its a nice basic colour that there not gonna £ra*e£ you to mix up ect

I think its just the picture, and the fact it has a lot of metallic in it, you can see it on the bumper curve for example.
It gave a very nice deep look, but it did get cleared quite a few times.

Im more into a deep "water" look black, like really jet black black, thats more grey / semi astor ish, which im not into tbh, I like it to look like a mirror of water when polished!

Hm I guess, im not exactly a bodywork expert haha as most people will already know, up until now, my car gets washed twice yearly, once for coombe action day, and again for FCS, it gets a full 6 hour treatment then, but other than that, i never bother as its so f*cked it just looks crap, but be nice to have paint worth looking after, so looks like its edging towards a straight respray of original colour then...

Onyx can look beautiful with the proper work put in. Resprays vary in cost vastly and the reason is the final finish you get. Yeah you can get resprays for £400......the finish will be shocking and you will have to put in a lot of work to get it nice. Or you can pay over 3k but i bet it will be glossy and like a mirror!

The mercedes paint has a lot of different colours in.
Why not just go for straight black with a hint of metallic in xyz colour and have it triple cleared and flatted off in between each layer.
