I still have my original Mega Drive, it was a Jap import version so I could play both English and Jap spec games. Was awesome.
I loved playing desert strike, road rash, cool games like that. They were fun because it didn't take 62 days to "complete".

Do they not even have SCART? That's how my Mega Drive is connected. As for the blow the cartridge trick, one of my new games (Flashback) didn't work initially, quick blow on the connectors and it's fine
Nope no scart connectors. My tv is LED and i think a scart connector could actually be thicker than the actual tv its self
Nial my Samsung tv came with a scart adapter that plugs in

I loved that system! Even if it did keep failing to read the disc...

Got a ps1 ps2 x3 and ps3 a sega megadrive thats it sadly.
Had shit loads when i lived with my mum n dad.
Had:
Mega drive x5
Ps1 x2
Ps2
Original xbox (chiped)
Snes
Commador 64 x3 (with 4 binliners full of games)
Game cube
Game boy (original x2 and a fiew others )
And a heap of other things but sadly (or stupidly) i sold them to get the rent for my first house.
Wish i had them all now

Got a spectrum ZX for £70 and a load of tape games.
got my N64 which was my first console about 4 years ago! new in box for £45
Got two xboxes, games and controllers for £10.
Got my gamecube, games and four controllers for probably £60 in total but in original box etc.
Got a ps2, eyetoy and loads of games etc for £25.
Got my sega mega drive and master system adapter for £40 with loads of games mint in the box. Lion king and Aladdin etc.
And last week I got a xbox 360, 9 games and kinect for £60
