RE: no brakes - Piggy - 14-03-2013

this is weird.

You sure the calipers arent seized or blockage in the lines?!

RE: no brakes - padge - 14-03-2013

changed calipers, and its still the same, going to change the MC and bleed them again, then move onto possible callspsed line/s?

brakes worked 100% on the car it came off, i know the car.

RE: no brakes - padge - 14-03-2013

tried a working one way valve, no difference.

RE: no brakes - gareth7 - 15-03-2013

This is really strange Padge......if you haven't checked already (which I'm sure you probably have) have a look at the braided flexi pipes on the vac line between the vac pump and the servo.

One of mine looked compressed, the one straight after the pump and bulkhead pipes, and when I opened the braid up it had two 30mm splits on opposite sides of the pipe.

RE: no brakes - padge - 15-03-2013

hmmm, dosent seem to be fluid going to the back cylinders?

RE: no brakes - Piggy - 15-03-2013

odd...v odd

RE: no brakes - padge - 15-03-2013

when you press the brake pedal, the fluid drops slightly, in the MC then when you release the pedal it comes back.

RE: no brakes - Piggy - 15-03-2013

all very weird.

you getting fluid at all four corners when nipples cracked open?

RE: no brakes - padge - 15-03-2013

none at the back, fronts seem to flow fine

RE: no brakes - Piggy - 15-03-2013

odd.
so....vacuum pump creates a vacuum?
servo holds the vacuum?
front calipers not seized?
rear compensator free?
master cylinder not leaking?

RE: no brakes - padge - 15-03-2013

all of the above work, we havent checked compensator

RE: no brakes - Rippthrough - 15-03-2013

Sounds like master cylinder has a leak on the rear seal.

RE: no brakes - padge - 15-03-2013

changed MC, and its no different, even changed the seal.

RE: no brakes - Piggy - 15-03-2013

get fluid to the rears....nothing appears to be wrong apart from that...it may be nothing to do with the main fault but it needs fixing anyway and may point to the bigger issue

RE: no brakes - Rippthrough - 16-03-2013

Very strange that there's no fluid to the back if the M/C is okay, is the compensator moving freely?

RE: no brakes - padge - 16-03-2013

not checked that ripp, we are thinking a collapsed rear flexy? strange how 2 can f*ck up though.

RE: no brakes - Rippthrough - 16-03-2013

Would have to be 2 for both rears to have no fluid though?

RE: no brakes - padge - 16-03-2013

bypassed the compensator, had some brake pipes made, we have fluid at all 4 corners, but brakes are still crap, the backs lok up and the fronts dont.

RE: no brakes - Piggy - 16-03-2013

thats what the compensator stops happening! lol

this is so odd

RE: no brakes - padge - 16-03-2013

im furious tbh, wish i never bought it

RE: no brakes - Rippthrough - 16-03-2013

Yeah, they will lock up with no compensator in, especially if there's still air somewhere.

RE: no brakes - padge - 16-03-2013

well, the fronts dont lock up at all

RE: no brakes - Piggy - 16-03-2013

hmmmm. is the piping all right?? as in circuits right?

RE: no brakes - padge - 16-03-2013

Going to change front flexys tommorow, piping looks ok.

RE: no brakes - Birk - 16-03-2013

Abs unit could be buggered.

RE: no brakes - padge - 16-03-2013

we unplugged it, it brought the light up, but there was no difference lol, ill try flexys tommorow, then abs pump.

RE: no brakes - Birk - 17-03-2013

The brake lines go into the abs before going to the calipers, so it wouldn't affect the pedal if you unplugged it if it was partially blocked or damaged.

RE: no brakes - Tom - 17-03-2013

Think we need a recap on exactly what the problem is. And pedal operation described perfectly. Still weird though because you've changed almost the whole braking system whats left :/

RE: no brakes - padge - 17-03-2013

only things left to change, are flexys and abs pump,

RE: no brakes - padge - 17-03-2013

fluid shoots out of the front bleed nipples, and brakes are still shit.
