It still looks a bit shit. So time to take remove the inlet manifold and have proper degrease and a lick of paint me thinks cam covers will be cleaned and prepped and painted

so inlet manifold gasket and throttle body gaskets to be replaced

Oh and a quick picture of the muck behind the rear lights

Just waiting for a few things coming from mr postman :/ so i can get cracking on thursday

Re: Puggie's GTI-6 Refresh (free cars are best ) - Puggie - 09-07-2013

Right big update pics to follow

Since getting the car I january replaced the following

Cambelt
Waterpump
Tentioners
Thermostat
Engine mounts
Track controll arms
Trackrod ends
Rear beam mounts
Front & rear discs & pads
Injectors refurbed
TPS replaced
Inlet manifold bung
K&n apollo cold air induction kit (bwarp is epic )

Front panel powder coated black

So I habe no real need to use the car in the coming months so I would be rude not to start phase 2 of the clean up

Going to refurb the underside of the car from front to rear beam is coming off so is the petrol tank I am starting there working forward to the front brake likes and fuel lines will be replaced if needed

So I will be using the following products

Bilt hamber detox c
Bilt hamber detox gel
Bilt hamber hydrate 80
Bilt hamber dynax s50 anti corrosion wax
U-pol seam sealer
Acid etch primer
Black hammeright

Should have the car minty fresh by november

Sounds good man. How did the car take to the injector refurb? Mines recently started to get a bit lumpy on idle and thinking it could be dirty injectors.

So with nothing to do at the weekend I thought I would get cracking tyding up

Bit of a tidy of inside boot floor

Side skirts removed rust treated with hydrate 80, etch primer, seam sealer, black hameright

Rear arches gave the same process

Also gave the underside a bit of love same process as above

I also found this down the fair on sunday those under 30 will have no idea what movie its from lol

Exhaust off today & follow on the process working my way forward

RE: Puggie's GTI-6 Refresh (free cars are best ) - Frosty - 15-07-2013

I've done the under side and rear arches like you have. I need to do the sills though before I put the side skirts on
