No sunroof, blue, 3 door. Can't wait to get this finished and driving it.

i want to switch to an non sunroof model shell, but finding a decent J plater,
which will be a carb if i find one. so i will have to strip the full car right down to a bare shell practically! fit everything over from this car.
would take me a few weeks to do.
but at least you can change things or upgrade too, if i ever go down this route, id be fitting rear turrents and going class C metro gti spec with throttle boddies.

he mite have the same problem my phase1 had, that was a hold behind the windows screen. i thought it was the sunroof or the ariel, but after it the window screen was removed, a massive hole the size of a golf ball! couldnt really repair that.

RE: Project re shell. 3 door. - Pompey306mark - 23-02-2013

I have no ariel, it's been filled and covered in vinyl. So it can't be that. I am just getting annoyed with my car so decided to change it.

So got home from kris's yesterday after sleeping on his sofa for two nights, was a good house party though.
Checked the dash which has been damaged, so repaired that, went looking for a lower glovebox now, none at the local scrap yard Sad which will delay the flicking for a bit.

Bits to get flocked.

I am a little worried about my current car, the coolant is going nuts.

Would like to get some new gauge holders, as I also don't like the a pillar ones I have at the moment.

RE: Project re shell. 3 door. - Pompey306mark - 26-02-2013

Right off to the flockers today.

Should get pillars back by Friday. Going to wrap my roof lining in material again, but black this time.

On Saturday, should have the interior done bar the front seats. Then need to attack the hole in the roof and the side strip holes.

Also need to clean and paint the engine bay.

RE: Project re shell. 3 door. - ozonehostile - 26-02-2013

The smoothed doors from the 5 door.....what's happening with those?

RE: Project re shell. 3 door. - Pompey306mark - 26-02-2013

They will be up for sale. They are covered in vinyl which is easy enough to remove, they are blue underneath though.

RE: Project re shell. 3 door. - procta - 26-02-2013

coming on well pompy. are you adding extras into the car loom too while the dash is out?

RE: Project re shell. 3 door. - Pompey306mark - 26-02-2013

Pompey or mark. Mark is my real name Wink

What kind of extras?

RE: Project re shell. 3 door. - Pompey306mark - 26-02-2013

Cheers to JamesG couldn't find some bits from the local scrappy so getting them from him. Dash should be done by next weekend now.

Hands up anyone who wants to come lend me and kris a hand one weekend next month?

RE: Project re shell. 3 door. - Pompey306mark - 27-02-2013

That's flocking very nice indeed Smile

RE: Project re shell. 3 door. (Now with flocking inside) - Curt - 27-02-2013

Looks good. How much does Ron charge, for say a c-pillar? I may get some bits done at some point on the Mazda

RE: Project re shell. 3 door. (Now with flocking inside) - Pompey306mark - 27-02-2013

That lot was £65.
Dash will be £85.
Both lower console parts will be £45.

RE: Project re shell. 3 door. (Now with flocking inside) - Eeyore - 27-02-2013

RE: Project re shell. 3 door. (Now with flocking inside) - pugtk - 27-02-2013

what model is the blue carpet out of?

RE: Project re shell. 3 door. (Now with flocking inside) - Puggie - 27-02-2013

s16 i think ain't it ?

RE: Project re shell. 3 door. (Now with flocking inside) - Pompey306mark - 27-02-2013

No idea. They normally come out of S16's.

Though I had to cut a hole in this one so the fuel filler cap lever could work.

RE: Project re shell. 3 door. (Now with flocking inside) - Scott - 27-02-2013

The blue carpet comes from an S16 or occasionally I believe XSis were fitted with one.

It's good to see this being done as a 3 door, for some reason the 5 door never sat quite right with me, though I can appreciate the work that was put into it.

RE: Project re shell. 3 door. (Now with flocking inside) - Pompey306mark - 27-02-2013

So including all the flocking bits I am getting done and all the parts i got at ace and the material for the headliner, and fuel. The car currently stands at £480.

RE: Project re shell. 3 door. (Now with flocking inside) - Pompey306mark - 02-03-2013

Flocked dash completed. Just waiting on the fuse cover and glove box. Then the two lower centre consoles. Should be completed next week.
