also yes it is a bosch pump and it will run on veg but the seals are very weak and will start leaking after less than a tnak of fuel.

Oh and drifting a TD beemer is so easy cos of the torque but the tyre bill is silly.

Hmm, I wonder why Chris?

Looks a clean example. any particular reason why you didn't get a 530d?

Change the ATF asap. I don't think the gm box in that will have been too stressed comparitively as it should be a a5s390r, same as that used in the 530d. Considering the milleage though, I wouldnt risk it. Those boxes are piss poor for durability on the bigger engines.

I used to have a 330d auto before my 6spd manual, and it was terrible on fuel. Driving like a nun would yield 25mpg around town. Normal realistic town around 20mpg. The e39 tourer is much heavier... Check the coolant temp, should hit close to 90deg after 8ish miles. If not, that will knock your mpg to shit, there is a hidden menu to access that.

Also in case anyone's confused, this is a common rail engine. Do not put any fkin veg in it! Smile

Can you get stronger seals for it and would running 50/50 help?

It'll be cheaper than a 2.5 petrol...

RE: kingys new motor. - Toms306 - 19-02-2013

But its big, heavy, auto and a 2.5 litre engine.......that is cheap compared to what the equivalent petrols will be haha! lol

Oh actually, I just checked.....it's the same price/band as the 525i SE Auto Tourer.... lmao

You're probably not interested, but the DVLA CO2 figures are 219g/km for the diesel and 252g/km for the petrol, so they just fall into the same band.
