I try not to hoon mine until it's got to the 90 mark, probably over cautious but I'm just ridiculously mechanically sympathetic lmao

And water temp, although the standard gauge isn't 100% accurate, 75 degrees sounds pretty dieseley in terms of temps?

Just my thoughts as I've noticed the Xu10 lump likes to run quite hot.

the stat on the oil plate opens at 80c so i guess the oil cooler is effectively cooling the coolant now

i know the gauges arn't accurate but that is all i have to go by until i plug planet in but i suspect that wont give oil temp

Looks great in person, can't tell the cooler is there at all

RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM with added oil cooler - Poodle - 30-06-2014

75 degrees on the motorway?? That's not right, time for a new thermostat i should think. As Ozone says, should sit at 90 degrees water temp.

RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM with added oil cooler - cully - 09-07-2014

well that nearly ended it all in a pile of bianca bits!

decided to take the car out for a spin
only to get the throttle to jam open! Confused

one hell of a brown trouser moment later!
after getting it all back together and stopped I lifted the bonnet to find what had happened

to find the tiny rubber grommet on the throttle cable had slid down the cable and jammed the throttle butterfly cam open

not funny..... adrenaline is brown!

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuccckkk

I can imagine that being shit scary especially depending on traffic/corners.

Alright when your brain realises you can just clutch in and brake but your pants will be brown before then.

thats one heck of a list...

not sure I would want to make a list with mine....to realise how much I have spent!

RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM with added oil cooler - RetroPug - 18-07-2014

Car is looking absolutely gorgeous in that picture!

RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM with added oil cooler - cully - 19-07-2014

something else to add to the list
have changed the brake fluid for better higher boiling point fluid so brakes should feel good at coombe for the full 15 mins now Wink

bled through the complete system without breaking off any nipples
also checked through the suspension and securing points all good ready for its next outing Smile

the old brake fluid was tested and it had a boiling point of 166c the new fluid says 300 + on the tin but is actually 290c DOT4 so a vast improvment

Good garages always use floor mats, shows they care about your car Smile

RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM with added oil cooler - ozonehostile - 19-07-2014

how much is the dot4 per litre these days?

RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM with added oil cooler - Piggy - 19-07-2014

why not Dot5 cully?

I dont use anything else, havnt done for years. For the small extra its soooo worth it!

RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM with added oil cooler - cully - 19-07-2014

dot 5 is silicon based and not compatible and cant be mixed

dot3-4-5.1 are based on poly glycol compounds.

the Dot 4 im using has the highest boiling point available Wink

RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM with added oil cooler - Piggy - 19-07-2014

cool....the Dot5.1 I use, and always have, has a boiling point of well over 300degrees from memory...not that I would ever explore that!!
But think we probably did on the rally car a few times!

you know ya jiz though Wink

RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM with added oil cooler - cully - 22-07-2014

what a long day its been
left home today at 15:45 arrived at ACE cafe London around 18:30 around 2 3/4 hrs
what a great turn out

[attachment=17879]

return trip was good but dark with roadworks on the M4
Left ace 22:30 got home 01:00 around 2 1/2 hrs

around 80mph all the way there and back used 2/3s of a tank on a 371 mile round trip

and the oil cooler has sorted any cooling issues

Good to see its all behaving, this car is lucky to have an owner like yourself.

question is, whats next? From you list earlier on it seems like you've covered most (if not all) corners of the car.

RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM with added oil cooler - Dum-Dum - 22-07-2014

I think he's got to finish that engine he was building.

RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM with added oil cooler - Dum-Dum - 09-08-2014

White wheels look rubbish on white cars, they'd look much better on my rallye. I'll save you the hassle of posting them and come and pick them up right?
