Yeah it has a set of harriers on the front, just needs some rears Smile okay sweet. Should be sorted then! Make sure grant doesn't forget my shiny stuff Smile

RE: Matts rallye project - samass - 23-11-2012

Well as I'm sure most have seen by now, the engine is out after being blown to bits.

http://306oc.co.uk/forum/thread-12448-post-243938.html#pid243938

Next week I'm heading up to sams to tackle the rust in the engine bay, then a full Hammerite job Smile
Will hopefully have the new engine fitted by end of may complete with solid lower mount, decent front shocks, new rear beam, new discs pads all round, braided brake lines all round, calipers reprinted, and a general repaint.

Then it's mot time!

Nice one on the progress buddy Smile Going the right way about getting this sorted out ready for summer!

BTW, I've got some brand-new, still in box mintex 1144 pads and Pagid discs.... Yours for £135 if you need them..... Tongue

RE: Matts rallye project - Matt - 02-04-2013

Hmmm tempting, is that for all 4 corners?

Nah, just fronts.

Check the price of Mintex 1144s these days and Pagid pads! I only want what I paid for them as I don't yet need to do my brakes; they're ok at the moment!

I've got some rear pads but I think I'm one pad short as I had to replace one I lost on an enthusiastic drive to curt's.... You can have them for £10 if you want them too, though I think they're normal Mintex... Either way shouldn't be a problem, you wont need uprated pads at the front really, they hardly do anything anyway!

Optimistic, how?! Keen definitely; I bought the parts before making certain I needed them which is pretty failtastic! But Optimistic... I wouldn't count that amongst my qualities... Tongue I'm probably the first person when working on my car to make the Team America secret signal and give up hope!

RE: Matts rallye project - Matt - 02-04-2013

Cos this ^^^ lol. The moment somethings off the shelf it loses value, the prices you put up for stuff would suggest the opposite sometimes haha!

RE: Matts rallye project - Ed Doe - 02-04-2013

The only reason I mentioned them was if Matt needed a set it would help me out as much as him if he bought them off me, as I don't need them right now. It makes no sense to me to sell them for less than I paid for them so I'll keep them if I don't make my money back as I'll need them before the year is out...

I get what you mean though, but was hoping Matt would be nice enough to buy from a friend rather than ecp or similar, as it benefits both of us!

RE: Matts rallye project - Fozzy - 02-04-2013

RE: Matts rallye project - Matt - 20-08-2015

IT LIVES!!!!!

after 2 and a half long years i finally drove it last night for the first time since it blew the rods.

its had a new radiator, battery, full service, cambelt and water pump.
new rear water pipe as the fucker exploded.
fitted a standard exhaust and aftermarket cat.
all had the engine wired in properly, driveshafts attached properly and sub hub nuts attached :S

all the work undertaken by pugperformance. which i want to say a massive thanks to colin, this car has been a major pain in his ass for the last few weeks.

right so, to do list

tighten every bolt in engine bay
source and fit front seat belts
fit lambda sensor
replace front struts
replace wishbones
fix lift up reverse
fix and possibly weld the floor pan

mot the bitch and enjoy whats left of summer.
