RE: Joey, its over. - Tom - 22-01-2014

New rods if thats what it is. Might put some new bearings in there if i got the wonga.

RE: Joey, its over. - Frosty - 22-01-2014

Did you use the bearings that you got with the rods? I put new bearings in with mine, think they were about £80/90 though

RE: Joey, its over. - Tom - 23-01-2014

I used what was in them. They looked healthy to me, not scored or pitted or burnt they didnt look skiny either so i thought f*ck it :p

Joey, its over. - Frosty - 23-01-2014

Tbf I think most do just reuse them. I just wondered if that would make any difference

RE: Joey, its over. - Tom - 23-01-2014

The way i seen it was they're bearings that look half decent and i could spend like you say 80quid on a new set or i could just run with what i got, using what was there made sense to me. If they are the cause of my issue i would be VERY suprised.

Have a set of these tucked away in my 205 spare parts shed .. never got to fit them along with some solid axle mounts.. all that is about to change with project xud powered gti 205 Inlove

RE: Joey, its over. - Craigus - 23-01-2014

Glad this is getting fixed! Smile

RE: Joey, its over. - Tom - 24-01-2014

I really want to have a half reliable engine side of things so i can sort the suspension, been fapping over all this poly stuff and solid beam mounts and big torsion bars <3

RE: Joey, its over. - procta - 24-01-2014

at least things are moving on for you tom, for me, I could have beat the seller of the engine to a pulp! 2 bastard weeks it took me and my dad to get the car running, then for it to die with in two weeks of been in the engine bay! then a month of it sitting with a f*cked engine and pulling the car back a part again and going thru it all again! My 200 quid recored rad was out more times it was in! I was starting to loose my loaf as I spent cash on parts for the car, that were starting to rust, and get damaged.
If it dies this time, that's it. game over the shell will just get sold as a race shell.

RE: Joey, its over. - Tom - 29-01-2014

Shit has happened. Decided to build a new lump, and im still going to scrimp but hopefully it will be better than what i've got now. So im now the proud owner of this heap of rubbish.

Oh f*ck off photobucket.

*Insert picture of pile of xud crap here*

Decided to work again.

Bought it off frank.

So stripped the new lump down to be pleasantly suprised. I seem to have an original headgasket, either that or its a replacment and they didnt skim the head because the head is mint. Shame im only using the block :p

RE: Joey, its not so over, quite yet, maybe. - Tom - 30-01-2014

In other news i have new conrods on the way.
