Smoke test only mate!

He'll also have I wait for the glowplug light to go out before its starts lol

Nope...

RE: Miss_Tap's Diablo GTi-6 > XUD project - Rich306 - 13-09-2013

I'd pop a set of Diesel clocks in it then Smile

RE: Miss_Tap's Diablo GTi-6 > XUD project - Pompey306mark - 13-09-2013

I have a set of phase one diesel clocks with metal monkey dials. But I think you will need phase 2 clocks.

RE: Miss_Tap's Diablo GTi-6 > XUD project - ginge191 - 13-09-2013

It doesnt NEED diesel clocks at all - all the dials work besides the rev gauge, which on a derv is IMO pointless Tongue

As for a glowplug light, it's not particularly essential, im sure most are aware of how long the glowplug relay is live for, anywho, if it's really needed, i can wire in an LED if needed lol

RE: Miss_Tap's Diablo GTi-6 > XUD project - darrenjlobb - 13-09-2013

Glow plug light can just be wired into a spare light on the cluster, plenty of them...

RE: Miss_Tap's Diablo GTi-6 > XUD project - Piggy - 14-09-2013

the glow plug blank IS there on the petrol clocks...just put a bulb/holder in the blank.

It worked on the ph3 petrol clocks on mine for a few test runs anyway

RE: Miss_Tap's Diablo GTi-6 > XUD project - Poodle - 16-09-2013

For anyone reading, who may be wondering: yes, you do have to declare the engine change and get it all orted before you can get it through an MOT.

RE: Miss_Tap's Diablo GTi-6 > XUD project - strictly_perv - 16-09-2013

Turn that pump down if anything! It's set up for 170bhp!
I'm running the second pump which I had on the 205, when it got dynoed at 190bhp, plus the wastegates not been touched yet, chronic coal haha.
Be good to see the ol' tapper running again.g

RE: Miss_Tap's Diablo GTi-6 > XUD project - ginge191 - 16-09-2013

still needs retarding slightly i feel; quite smokey on idle.

Will have a play around tomorrow.

RE: Miss_Tap's Diablo GTi-6 > XUD project - ginge191 - 17-09-2013

small update; weather has been CRAP so been stuck in the confinement of the garage; not wide enough to get a jack under and get on with any under work (exhaust, arches, bumper) so got on with what we could.
Sorted out the glowplug relay after having issues with getting the relay power and then not holding the 12v. Anywho, sorted it, NOT bodged Tongue

managed to get slam panel, rad, hoses and fans on;

Had to get to the scrappy and get an intercooler to use and a top rad hose; to cut a long story short, the car NEEDS to be on the road asap, with the 406 inlet manifold, i can't fit a standard TMIC as manifold change requires the K14 to be removed/pulled off etc.. havn't the time to do this, so a quick intercooler setup was required.
It's not fantastic but should do the job. SMIC FTW!

RE: Miss_Tap's Diablo GTi-6 > XUD project - 4WayDiablo - 17-09-2013

Interesting setup haha
I should imagine it would be better than a TMIC but not as good as a FMIC.
Good work though!

pretty much; we have no liner for a TMIC, plus it hasn't the burden of engine heat rising through it like a TMIC; in theory, it should be alright, plenty of space to radiate heat, with at least some air flow to it.
It's not to cool anything huge for now, so should suffice!
