Re: Stanced XUD estate - Ed Doe - 24-04-2012 also the xantia piping is TINY. literally you wont get any decent airflow through it at all... Think smaller than the oem pug inlet piping behind the ic... Re: Stanced XUD estate - 4WayDiablo - 24-04-2012 Me and ginge done that on his car 51mm u bend / 51mm to 57mm adapter/ pipes to filer location Its quite a pig to do we were fiddling both top and bottom for a while but went in by pushing the u bend up from below and getting the adapter in from the top That's as on a gt15. Not sure if the turbo inlet is the same size as t2 though. It does get very tight with the steering rack UJ but is fine now Re: Stanced XUD estate - cwspellowe - 24-04-2012 How true Scott, how true. Can you not set up an auto filter or pre approval on the posts so you can vet the credibility of suggestions? Ed, no no no, i'm on about routing pipes from filter to turbo around the Berlingo manifold, The Xantia pipes are terrible. It'snotgaywhenitsina3way that's what I was thinking, seems tight but should be able to get some pipework in there right? Possibly followed by a randomly generated insult? Maybe embed this page? Nice venti latte, you pus-drinking tramp Re: Stanced XUD estate - cwspellowe - 24-04-2012 Nice jersey, you geeky vulva-licking gaybod Re: Stanced XUD estate - 4WayDiablo - 24-04-2012 cwspellowe Wrote:4WayDiablo that's what I was thinking, seems tight but should be able to get some pipework in there right?Yeah its tight but definatly doable and ginge said it makes a difference noise and performance wise Like I say 57mm (2.25" iirc) was alright to get in after the u bend Re: Stanced XUD estate - ginge191 - 24-04-2012 I'll see if i got any photos laying around - i know silverzx and myself were discussing it a while back... Re: Stanced XUD estate - cwspellowe - 24-04-2012 Good lads, pics would be a massive help. Am slowly building this thing up, getting there! Re: Stanced XUD estate - ginge191 - 24-04-2012 From what i have... ![]() ![]() ![]() That's all i have saved - tend to delete pics after i've used them. I'll trawl facebook messages and pm's on here, see if i can find any more. If not, i'll get some after uni tomorow. EDIT: here's one more - thats of the turbo ![]() ONTO ![]() a high res pic from trent http://img18.imageshack.us/img18/6514/intake2a.png Re: Stanced XUD estate - 4WayDiablo - 24-04-2012 Probably not too much help but ![]() ![]() Re: Stanced XUD estate - cwspellowe - 24-04-2012 You not get any banging noises off the bulkhead like that? Stanced XUD estate - Jonny b - 24-04-2012 cwspellowe Wrote:You not get any banging noises off the bulkhead like that? No he just pops boost hoses off every 20 meters ha ha Re: Stanced XUD estate - ginge191 - 24-04-2012 cwspellowe Wrote:You not get any banging noises off the bulkhead like that? as johnny says... i just have no boost to the engine ![]() no in all seriousness, no, nothing at all - just a nice spool, nice noise, clean intake (old breather into a catch tank), and a huge filter on the end i'ts been on for a fair few months now, and the boost pipe has come off once, put it back on after cleaning the pipees and turbo - holding fine! Re: Stanced XUD estate - 4WayDiablo - 24-04-2012 Jonny b Wrote:Thats me lolcwspellowe Wrote:You not get any banging noises off the bulkhead like that? And afaik no ginge doesnt Re: Stanced XUD estate - Jacko - 24-04-2012 Flexi ducting ![]() ![]() Re: Stanced XUD estate - cwspellowe - 25-04-2012 Its an option but flow would be crap! Unless I ran flexi to the gear box and ally to the headlight. Just need to get it out from behind the engine, stupid backwards design! Re: Stanced XUD estate - Dan! - 25-04-2012 Sieve over the inlet ftw ![]() Re: Stanced XUD estate - ginge191 - 25-04-2012 as for the flexi - i looked into this but wasn't really trusting it too much - a flexible material, being sustained to heat as being close/touching the engine, i dont know - just couldn't drive it hard knowing it was sucking that much, be scared it would cave in ![]() and NO to sieve ![]() Re: Stanced XUD estate - cwspellowe - 25-04-2012 Ginge depends how restrictive the filter is, if it's free flowing enough the ducting shouldn't collapse if it's reinforced. Gah gonna be an expensive month I think, still need to order all the hoses and fmic pipes! Re: Stanced XUD estate - ginge191 - 25-04-2012 definitely spellowe, but at the end it's down to personal choice completely! ![]() I enjoy mine , and have seen padge's intake which is ducting, i was tempted by that but again, i prefer a more subtle look all round. 2nd edit: Also notice how cramped it is over the far side with little 'cool air' intake availble, linking to heatsoak issues edit: for example: ![]() vs ![]() Re: Stanced XUD estate - cwspellowe - 25-04-2012 Right going to order hoses. Leakoff pipe from injector to pump - 6mm? Various fuel pipes and things - 8mm? Vacuum line from pump to servo - 10mm? Re: Stanced XUD estate - ginge191 - 25-04-2012 Fuel hose from filter to pump - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/8mm-5-16-R6-F ... 1e60432d8b and leak off piping - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DIESEL-LEAK-S ... 564688ab7c found it! Re: Stanced XUD estate - TheGateKeeper - 25-04-2012 Looks better and better every time I open this thread ![]() Re: Stanced XUD estate - cwspellowe - 25-04-2012 Few more pics demonstrating a couple of little updates. Firstly, got the plasma dials in after a long time sitting on my desk in my room. Pretty straightforward, just need to find a 12v live, which is hard to do when you've no battery on the car ![]() ![]() ![]() Cheeky shot of the quickshift going together. Word of advice to anyone fitting one, reuse the rubber boot around the original gear selector, like below. Of you'll get a LOT of cabin noise/vibration I expect. I noticed it's not written in the guide to do so. ![]() ![]() And finally dropped the coilovers to see how it will sit. Can get another 15mm or so by removing collars from the damper bodies but that's about as low as they're going. Quite happy with it for now though, shorter springs one day maybe. ![]() Re: Stanced XUD estate - ginge191 - 25-04-2012 This is looking awesome!! also, how easy was the quickshift to fit, looking at doing mine soon.. could you write it in 3/4 bulletpoints, or is it a bit more extensive? Re: Stanced XUD estate - cwspellowe - 25-04-2012 Ginge there's a guide on the forum with pictures and everything ![]() Re: Stanced XUD estate - 4WayDiablo - 25-04-2012 lol ginge fail, mine is wired into the blanking plate switch where the dimmer used to be Re: Stanced XUD estate - ginge191 - 25-04-2012 don't panic, i've found it! viewtopic.php?f=31&t=1544&hilit=quickshift cheers ![]() |
