RE: Project Truck Turbo MkII, gathering dust - ozonehostile - 01-05-2014

I might clear all the crap off the top and dust it off soon, see if I feel any sudden urges to finish it :-P

Every time i come round we spend hours just generally talking and pratting about lol

I reckon you need to be locked inside the workshop untill you crack on with it just out of boredom.

RE: Project Truck Turbo MkII, gathering dust - ozonehostile - 01-05-2014

Haha, I'll get the rallye moved to my mates for welding and the '6 on the road, Dturbo can move forward in the que then lol

RE: Project Truck Turbo MkII, gathering dust - ozonehostile - 10-07-2014

So, pretty much everyone asks me what's happening with the old dturbo so here's what's going down...

I came so close to breaking it the recently, just got no diesel love at the moment but I thought I'd clear all the shit off the top and fire it up, see if I felt anything for it. Started first piston up as always so I am starting to make a list of what it would need to go through an mot.

The project stopped while I was saving to get a load of bits sprayed but I got distracted by the rallye and 16v petrol in general, but since it's never going to be the prettiest car anyway I think I'll just radge it together with what I've got, so black shell, Miami blue bumper, yellow bonnet, cossack grill, diablo hockey sticks and possibly a diablo wing lmao harlequin style

To get it running properly and ready for the road I need to get a load more boost pipes, fix some seats in and sort the earthing issue out. Seems small but it's that ultra difficult last 10% stage lol

Keep an eye out Wink

Cant remember the spec but this needs a 'rude' bosch and a dyno run!

Glad to hear your thinking along the right lines. ThumbsUp

It's got one of the rudest bosch pumps going Wink

Made 173bhp on a T25 so the potential is strong with mOar turbo Wink

RE: Project Truck Turbo MkII, gathering dust - Jenkosowls - 10-07-2014

173 on a clogged filter and leaking wastegate!

Any news on this

RE: Project Truck Turbo MkII, gathering dust - Piggy - 06-08-2014

Its sad news. Confused

Will let ozone fill us all in.

RE: Project Truck Turbo MkII, gathering dust - ozonehostile - 06-08-2014

Yes indeed.

I rolled it out of hibernation last night and put it on the ramp to access what was actually left to do, looking around with a torch I found the front box sections were crusty under the underseal, bit more poking and they've properly gone.

The entire box are just wet grit basically and it's gone through into the floor and up the front around the subframe mounting bolts

It could be repaired but the welding will be an engine out job, not effort and money I'm willing to spend on a car I was undecided about anyway..
It's a shame as the rest of it wasn't that far off, but it would need a good day or two of welding plus removing everything just for the mot so not worth it for me.

I'll be breaking it to fund my rallye restoration so not all in vain, plus I'm keeping the truck turbo setup for another ninja project Wink

Breaking thread will be posted shortly

RE: Project Truck Turbo MkII, gathering dust - bashbarnard - 06-08-2014

that reminds me i need to weld the box section on mine before winter

yeah lol, get on that shit before it ruins your car!

RE: Project Truck Turbo MkII, gathering dust - bashbarnard - 07-08-2014

Might do next weekend. Its a shame about this motor though im sure that will make good money breaking though

RE: Project Truck Turbo MkII, gathering dust - ozonehostile - 07-08-2014

It's definitely a shame yeah, it's probably being in storage for so long that's killed it tbh, although the more eagle eyed reader of the breaking thread may have noticed some crucial parts aren't for sale Wink

RE: Project Truck Turbo MkII, gathering dust - bashbarnard - 07-08-2014

I did have a peak in there but piggy's thread has got me wanting to build a 2,1 for next year. Smile like a true car enthusiast there is always something in the pipeline

RE: Project Truck Turbo MkII, gathering dust - Dum-Dum - 07-08-2014
