I invested in a couple of 30cm white (to match the interior lights) SMD strips, and applied them to the underside of the front doors, creating "puddle lights", to illuminate the area that you'll put your feet as you get out. How did you wire this? RE: WiNgNuTz's Diablo DT - WiNgNuTz - 04-02-2014 I basically ran the power from the light on the bottom of the door around the door loom and up the A pillar, and tapped into the interior lighting circuit by the rear view mirror. Yes, it's a long ass piece of wire! ![]() RE: WiNgNuTz's Diablo DT - shazilla - 04-02-2014 What was better you 1.4 or this 1.9td? RE: WiNgNuTz's Diablo DT - WiNgNuTz - 05-02-2014 Definitely the dt, boost wins hands down. The 1.4 did sound nice, but that was it...Didn't go anywhere very quickly. ![]() Although I should be receiving an exhaust today or tomorrow courtesy of danny2009, which should make the dt sound a bit better. ![]() RE: WiNgNuTz's Diablo DT - shazilla - 05-02-2014 What type exahust, 4" tail pipe? i wana get a cherry bomb for my red car http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PROBomb-cherry-bomb-style-back-box-round-tail-pipe-exhaust-silencer-universal-/261329811480?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3cd8787818 RE: WiNgNuTz's Diablo DT - WiNgNuTz - 05-02-2014 Straight through to a powerflow backbox. Not sure how big it is, but heres the pic from his sale thread: ![]() Probably not far off 4" tbh, maybe 3.5"? WiNgNuTz's Diablo DT - devils_fuel - 06-02-2014 The motors looking well ![]() What car is the back box originally from? Here's mine from a 6, fitted with a straight through pipe. I think this is 4 inch...maybe more but burbles well on tick-over ![]() ![]() And fitted ![]() RE: WiNgNuTz's Diablo DT - WiNgNuTz - 06-02-2014 I've no idea for sure, but it was advertised as an xud system, so I can only assume it came from an xud! ![]() RE: WiNgNuTz's Diablo DT - Danny2009 - 09-02-2014 Like what you have done with this dest mod has to be lowerage, sat so high! Pretty sure it's a 3" tip let me know if it arrives tomorrow I'll go ape shit if it dosent RE: WiNgNuTz's Diablo DT - WiNgNuTz - 09-02-2014 Haha, cheers mate, yeah it was a bit tractor like, but i still reckon the back needs to come up a touch to match the front. Not keen on the idea of lowering the front any more, as i scrape the bumper in quite a few places already. ![]() I'm hoping it does turn up tomorrow, can't wait to get it fitted and get shot of the standard system thats full of holes! Should sound much better with a straight through as well. ![]() RE: WiNgNuTz's Diablo DT - WiNgNuTz - 10-02-2014 Thanks to Danny2009 for sending me this, and NO thanks to citylink for taking 4 days to make a "next day" delivery, but i got the new exhaust on today, its basically straight through, and sounds a bit farty on tickover, but i'm such a sucker for that turbo whistle. ![]() [attachment=13501] http://youtu.be/w43WXpctnQU Was obviously dark by the time i got finished, had issues with one of the exhaust hangers not quite reaching the bracket, and i made the cutout on the bumper a bit wonky, but it'll do for now. ![]() Will try and get some better pics tomorrow anyway, but yeah.....PROGRESS! ![]() WiNgNuTz's Diablo DT - devils_fuel - 10-02-2014 Ha ha I had fun making my cut out as the exhaust moved after settling so I've a wonky cut out lol Sounds like mine but mine is more raspier RE: WiNgNuTz's Diablo DT - Danny2009 - 10-02-2014 Sounds well mate ![]() RE: WiNgNuTz's Diablo DT - Tom - 10-02-2014 Oh yes, that is the beautiful xud sound! RE: WiNgNuTz's Diablo DT - Eeyore - 10-02-2014 Looks and sounds great mate RE: WiNgNuTz's Diablo DT - Piggy - 10-02-2014 I found with a straight through you will get more of a residue on the back as theres nothing catching it all on the way through...be a bit smokier too I would think! sounds sweet though, bet the turbo spools lil better too RE: WiNgNuTz's Diablo DT - WiNgNuTz - 10-02-2014 Yeah, well I'm expecting the standard issue coal all over the boot, but as it stands, it's getting covered in the oil that's coated the inside of the pipework. Haven't really had chance to give it a good run yet, but it did feel a bit pokier and more responsive on the way home. As for the sound, I think it might be a touch too loud for me, might see what it's like with the standard mid box section in before I scrap it. Maybe. ![]() RE: WiNgNuTz's Diablo DT - Craigus - 10-02-2014 Sounds nice ![]() RE: WiNgNuTz's Diablo DT - shazilla - 10-02-2014 de-cat? Re: RE: WiNgNuTz's Diablo DT - WiNgNuTz - 10-02-2014 (10-02-2014, 11:17 PM)shazilla Wrote: de-cat? Yes. WiNgNuTz's Diablo DT - devils_fuel - 11-02-2014 Mine has the ph1 front pipe with one mid box & gti6 back box, deep sound at lower revs and turbo whistle on boooost RE: WiNgNuTz's Diablo DT - WiNgNuTz - 11-02-2014 Yeah, ive got the ph1 pipe at the front, and straight through from there. As i say, before i get rid of the old system, i might put the mid section with the box in, see what it sounds like. Might as well while ive still got it! ![]() RE: WiNgNuTz's Diablo DT - Danny2009 - 11-02-2014 be a bit quieter pal but still get turbo whistle ![]() RE: WiNgNuTz's Diablo DT - JethroJay - 20-02-2014 Sounds the nuts man, looks awesome as well, you guys act like fools together as well but it's funny, lol, hopefully I'll be joining the D Turbo club soon *wink* *wink* RE: WiNgNuTz's Diablo DT - WiNgNuTz - 20-02-2014 Mate, as I always say...you can't help growing old, but no one can make you grow up! ![]() Cheers though, she's definitely getting there now, just need to sort some decent wheels out, get the beam from grant fitted (and set at a decent height), and a ph3 rear bumper, then the exterior is basically there. ![]() RE: WiNgNuTz's Diablo DT - JethroJay - 20-02-2014 (20-02-2014, 08:42 AM)WiNgNuTz Wrote: Mate, as I always say...you can't help growing old, but no one can make you grow up! Sweet I'll look forward to seeing it at one of the meets (if I ever go to the french car show) RE: WiNgNuTz's Diablo DT - puglove - 06-03-2014 God thats a huge variation in the diablo between the ph2 & 3 on your sig. didnt realize they were that different, still i like the cabby look rather than the fully colour coded ph3 RE: WiNgNuTz's Diablo DT - WiNgNuTz - 06-03-2014 Really? Might just be the photo tbh, doesn't look that different irl. But yeah, the "cabby" look, as you put it, is what I was going for. I really like the shape of the ph3 bumpers, but the black strips have grown on me since getting the dt. Looks even better now I've got a set of crystal fogs in as well. ![]() |
