Not interested enough to notice sh1t like that I guess. They really been like that 7 months...? RE: 2.1GTd...The Racetractor - Piggy - 13-01-2016 Thats when the video went live on how I made/fitted them...so guess at least that yeah https://youtu.be/b26HfPQi_a8 RE: 2.1GTd...The Racetractor - Dum-Dum - 14-01-2016 Good to hear she's running again. I thought most people had their sliders on the inside to save loosing them in just such an event. BUT its very common for rain to get in that way. I HAD been contempating it though, more for the smoother look/less wind noise RE: 2.1GTd...The Racetractor - cully - 14-01-2016 cat flaps RE: 2.1GTd...The Racetractor - Piggy - 19-01-2016 lets try again with that video.... https://youtu.be/ssjtAVcOoW8 RE: 2.1GTd...The Racetractor - Piggy - 25-01-2016 Mahoosive update.... Update over. RE: 2.1GTd...The Racetractor - Stef205 - 25-01-2016 was a battery box not in your budget? RE: 2.1GTd...The Racetractor - Dum-Dum - 25-01-2016 Liking the swirl pot RE: 2.1GTd...The Racetractor - tigerstyle - 25-01-2016 boost or water pipe split? Hmm.. Still not a gel battery... RE: 2.1GTd...The Racetractor - Matt-Rallye - 26-01-2016 (25-01-2016, 11:07 PM)Piggy Wrote:(25-01-2016, 10:54 PM)tigerstyle Wrote: boost or water pipe split? RE: 2.1GTd...The Racetractor - Piggy - 26-01-2016 What he said ^^^ RE: 2.1GTd...The Racetractor - Ruan - 26-01-2016 Not what I'd be concerned about, if it was to crack in a crash... What's going to happen! RE: 2.1GTd...The Racetractor - cully - 26-01-2016 (26-01-2016, 04:11 PM)Ruan Wrote: Not what I'd be concerned about, if it was to crack in a crash... What's going to happen! mmmmm Fried Bacon! RE: 2.1GTd...The Racetractor - darrenjlobb - 26-01-2016 It should fail the MOT instantly like that also. Should be sealed with a vent pipe unless sealed gel battery fitted. RE: 2.1GTd...The Racetractor - Piggy - 26-01-2016 Has a vent pipe. Passed 3 MOTs. All...becauseracecar. Also still better than the one I was running which was peeing acid everywhere and has ruined the paintwork around it! RE: 2.1GTd...The Racetractor - bashbarnard - 26-01-2016 Mot rules are secure battery and wiring. Nothing else. RE: 2.1GTd...The Racetractor - Piggy - 26-01-2016 Lets be honest. It's a death trap. That's half the thrill RE: 2.1GTd...The Racetractor - adam b - 26-01-2016 A gel type isn't much more money. Pc680 is about 75 quid. And it's lighter. I find myself able to go much quicker knowing that my car shouldn't be a death trap tbh... Hm, MOT rule or not, if you get pulled by VOSA they will screw you for it, I have seen it happen Legal or not, more to the point its just outright dangerous to some degree....Flying battery is heavy, and even if its not flying dripping battery acid isnt something you ideally want to be dealing with when your upside down in a ditch trying to get out the car... So your gel battery was 3 times the price of this then. Nope, not much more. (26-01-2016, 07:34 PM)darrenjlobb Wrote:(26-01-2016, 06:34 PM)bashbarnard Wrote: Mot rules are secure battery and wiring. Nothing else. Not sure how it will end up flying!? Battery acid dripping on me is likely to not be high on my concerns if I am upside down in a ditch. I understand the concern and usually bacon grinding...but thats as it is...and its twice as safe as it WAS before I replaced it RE: 2.1GTd...The Racetractor - cully - 26-01-2016 MSA rules for competition wouldn't allow your fuel lines Fuel Systems 5.13.1. Have any fuel lines passing through the driver/passenger compartment protected and, if non-metallic, to be internally or externally metal braided hydraulic pressure hose or fuel lines complying with FIA specifications. 5.13.2. They may only be joined by screwed sealing joints or vehicle manufacturers approved joint. 5.13.3. If fitted with fuel fillers in a closed boot, or under closure, have collector/spill trays incorporated to drain outside the vehicle. and as for the battery! Electrical Systems 5.14.1. Have any wet batteries in driver/passenger compartment enclosed in a securely located leak-proof container. 5.14.2. Have batteries duly protected to exclude leakage of acid and to protect terminals from short circuiting and producing sparks 5.14.5. Have the battery earth lead, if not readily distinguishable, identified by a yellow marking. and to be honest I am surprised at the likes of FCS and the likes letting cars onto track without going through a basic scrutineer excluding noise test it will be only a matter of time before they do i believe RE: 2.1GTd...The Racetractor - bashbarnard - 26-01-2016 Hmm I should really sort mine to be fair but I said that a year ago and the cars being broken up soon. Like most things though mot rules are minimum requirements doesn't make it legal and safe. I might invest in a proper battery box for the next one. |
