Yeah you should plan in a trip over for a week or so and go see the sights and have a little fun in the hills with a decent rental or bring the 306 if it's road legal! Ferry to Rosyth across the north sea probs makes most sense! http://www.buzzfeed.com/hilarywardle/12-places-youd-never-believe-were-in-scotland-aplm#.ycEKo9D0N RE: The photography thread - Post your own work! - Redordead89 - 01-09-2015 RE: The photography thread - Post your own work! - Janne L - 01-09-2015 (30-08-2015, 11:04 PM)Redordead89 Wrote:I'm not sure, the only one place I remember the name of is Edinburgh where we spent two days (and tasted the local brews :-D) but I think we moved around quite a bit.(30-08-2015, 06:40 PM)Janne L Wrote: Looking at these photos i start longing for that Scotland revisit I've had on the bucket list since I was there for a naval exercise in 2002!We're you round the west or east coast of Scotland on your excercise? RE: The photography thread - Post your own work! - WiNgNuTz - 14-09-2015 RE: The photography thread - Post your own work! - Redordead89 - 15-09-2015 That top pic is epic! V nice matey! RE: The photography thread - Post your own work! - WiNgNuTz - 15-09-2015 Thanks. Was hoping for a bit more colour in the cloud in the last shot, but if I ramped the saturation up any more it made the sheds look weird. Can't stand the over processed look! ![]() RE: The photography thread - Post your own work! - Redordead89 - 16-09-2015 Love the view from my wing mirror no matter what is in the distance behind me as long as that quarter panel and filler cap is there ![]() It reminds me of exactly where I want to be ![]() RE: The photography thread - Post your own work! - Redordead89 - 17-09-2015 RE: The photography thread - Post your own work! - WiNgNuTz - 24-09-2015 RE: The photography thread - Post your own work! - WiNgNuTz - 27-09-2015 Finally dragged my camera out of retirement again....can you tell? ![]() Racetractor - Piggy - 08-10-2015 [attachment=undefined] Flipping uploader RE: The photography thread - Post your own work! - WiNgNuTz - 09-10-2015 Captured a particularly nice sunset this evening. Dunno why you're still having trouble with the uploader piggy, try getting some better interwebz maybe? ![]() RE: The photography thread - Post your own work! - Piggy - 01-01-2016 RE: The photography thread - Post your own work! - Piggy - 01-01-2016 RE: The photography thread - Post your own work! - WiNgNuTz - 01-01-2016 Not taking away from your work mate, but what's the white streak in the foreground of the first shot? I thought maybe pressure washer? Both nice pics though, nicely composed. ![]() RE: The photography thread - Post your own work! - Piggy - 01-01-2016 (01-01-2016, 01:26 PM)WiNgNuTz Wrote: Not taking away from your work mate, but what's the white streak in the foreground of the first shot? I thought maybe pressure washer? Using a smoke machine...its pretty much dark when I took both shots...so long exposure. About 15seconds i think Bit annoyed about part of the light in that one shot though RE: The photography thread - Post your own work! - Redordead89 - 26-03-2016 Found myself a little way off the beaten track and came across this old mining building! RE: The photography thread - Post your own work! - Dazecoop - 14-04-2016 In efforts to make the forum more active, lets revive this thread! Was going to make my own thread, but I was sure there was already a photography/camera thread somewhere! I've been into photography since I can remember, owned a Canon dSLR since I was about 13/14. Now I'm 29, ditched the Canon in favour for Sony A7II, loving it so far! Here's some fairly recent photos In Paris earlier this year, Sony A7II & Sony 24-240 OSS ![]() ![]() Also in Paris, A7II camera, but with Canon "vintage" full manual FD lens, 50mm f1.8 ![]() ![]() In Japan, Osaka, last month. A7II with the Canon FD 50mm lens ![]() ![]() ![]() Then, just the other night, A7II with the 24-240, 30sec exposure ![]() And, as of today, I've bought myself a Samyang 14mm f2.8 full manual super wide lens! Hoping to get some fun shots with this over the next few weeks! ![]() Comments/criticism welcome ![]() RE: The photography thread - Post your own work! - Niall - 14-04-2016 Wow they are some awesome photos mate RE: The photography thread - Post your own work! - Piggy - 14-04-2016 Those little cams are epic...the future for sure. Little photoshoping to bring the colours out otherwise its just straight off a goprohero 3 black edition. Super impressed as ive never used it for photos only ever for video. One scary moment getting the out at sea pic where the wind was stronger than the quadcopter. It was an onshore breeze so not sure what was happening there. RE: The photography thread - Post your own work! - Dazecoop - 01-05-2016 Those photos are awesome! So good considering just from a GoPro too. Impressed with that! Thought I'd update this with a few of my recent Scotland holiday. Wouldn't bother with a course mate, just get a decent camera, preferably with manual mode (even a decent compact camera will do, it's what I started with!), read the manual so you know how to use the various modes, get out there and start taking pictures! All my photography is self taught, with a few hints and tips along the way. I joined up to photography-forum.org when I started, they have a wealth of guides and knowledge on there, might be worth a look. ![]() From what I've seen of the pics you have taken with your phone, you have a good basic knowledge of framing a shot, so just run with it. ![]() |
