He could let me of the 306, like the 306 did to him Re: Ed's broken Diablo Ph3 GTi6 - C.A.R. - 13-05-2012 darrenjlobb Wrote:c.a.r. Wrote:Way far gone, for instance this was a gentler impact at 60mph into armco which was a bit more forgiving - The box section / Chassis leg was bent inwards, very slightly, towards the engine. This would need pulling out, and even then it would be structurally weakened. A proper jig and alignment was looking at the wrong side of £600 at the time, which wasn't worth it on a car worth £2,200. Re: Ed's broken Diablo Ph3 GTi6 - Niall - 13-05-2012 Well we popped to eds today and it's definitely FUBAR'd. The chassis leg is massively bent and there's a kink in the bulk top suggesting the suspension turret has been moved ![]() Re: Ed's Dead Diablo Ph3 GTi6 - Scott - 13-05-2012 Thought I'd make the thread title a little more appropriate ![]() Good seeing you today mate, sorry that it wasn't exactly on better circumstances but it was a real good laugh and a great time catching up, working on the cars and getting a curry ![]() Re: Ed's Dead Diablo Ph3 GTi6 - Ed Doe - 14-05-2012 Scott Wrote:Thought I'd make the thread title a little more appropriate ![]() ![]() Massive thanks to You Scott, and Fooby, Niall & Grant, all of whom came over throughout the day to help out, provide banter and just generally make me feel a whole lot less shit about the whole unfortunate mess. Really really appreciated guys ![]() So I managed to strip the coilies off, rear seats completely, front bumper and slam panel, rads, oil cooler, quickshifter and put the stock struts back on so it can be easily moved (if my damn neighbours kick up a fuss) I'm gonna rope my dad into towing it down to Curt's on Saturday on a car transporter trailer, and then the stripping will start properly. As soon as I have a few minutes to figure out what parts I want to keep, I'll bung up a breaking thread with what's available for people to provisionally put dibs on. Don't write in here for dibs if anyone wants any of the bits guys, pm me or wait till I put up a breaking thread ![]() Such a shame this, but it's gotta be done I guess. Re: Ed's Dead Diablo Ph3 GTi6 - Poodle - 14-05-2012 You know it's the best thing to do, the sooner you get all your shiny shiny onto a new shell, the sooner you can go back to enjoying it. ![]() Re: Ed's Dead Diablo Ph3 GTi6 - ginge191 - 14-05-2012 ....so you're buying curts phase one now ![]() ![]() Re: Ed's Dead Diablo Ph3 GTi6 - Ed Doe - 14-05-2012 Ginge: nah, I'm afraid I prefer ph3s. ![]() Cheers for the offer Poodle buddy, I'll let you know when we next plan to be down there; should be good, get the whole south coast gang involved, get it ripped apart in no time! Also looking for an excuse to buy a 9" grinder if you want a hand cutting up the shell to take it to weigh in Re: Ed's Dead Diablo Ph3 GTi6 - Ruan - 14-05-2012 Housemate also has a reciprocating saw... Which makes you feel like 1000% more of a man whenever you use it on a car. Re: Ed's Dead Diablo Ph3 GTi6 - Scott - 14-05-2012 I was going to suggest driving Fooby's 6 into it to move it, but being a phase 2 it'd come out worse than Ed's ![]() |
