RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM - cully - 09-11-2013

The sun is out so its outdoor jobs today!

i have been threatening to do it for a while now one side of the front don't have an arch liner, i wanted to check the condition and give the underseal a new coat of paint as it looked damaged in places

can you tell which side didn't have the liner??

yup N/Side is packed with mud!
but the O/Side may need a patch as it feels soft need to get in there with a wire brush and strip back the scabs.

lots of tar to get off from the side without the arch liner before painting

so wire brush kurust and paint is the order in the near future

RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM - procta - 09-11-2013

that needs a phase 1 front end.

RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM - Tom - 09-11-2013

Hahahahaha man that arch is lagged!

RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM - bigcheez2k3 - 09-11-2013

Probably how my drivers arch is going to look when I get round to changing the wing.

RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM - puglove - 10-11-2013

RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM - Sian - 11-11-2013

RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM - cully - 16-11-2013

been poking around the front archs ive found some Holes!

so ive cleaned back to good metal and welded in a plate Smile

must be double skined there as it didnt burn through on fire watch

have also cleand back the passenger side and it looks good quick coat of Kurust to slow the brown evil

will have to do the drivers side tomorrow as the light is begining to go now
dark nights Great!
bet it rains tomorrow!

RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM - Jenkosowls - 19-11-2013

Passenger rear arch?

no ive already been through the rear arches and given then a coat of paint and some good arch liners.
pictures of that were back a few pages Wink

RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM - cully - 19-11-2013

yup my suspicions were correct !

Top engine mount chassis cup is broken!

i cant find the bits of metal that are missing, the mount has what looks like a large washer so i think its been bodged before!

Did you notice anything when driving?

Bit of a pain but you'll now know it's done, when you sort it.

earlyer in the thread i was saying the backend was skitish and loose coming off the throttle
im wondering if this is the cause engine moving transfering the weight around
thoughts ?

ive cut out a cardboard templet and a thin steal one for a templet of the cup
so im on the hunt in work tonight for some 3-4mm steal plate to cut a section out off

Big Grin

RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM - cully - 19-11-2013

i couldnt find any 3-4mm plate so ive bashed one out of 5mm plate
the bugger won't break again Wink

formed the rough shape will have to offer it up now to fine tune it with a big hammer

RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM - Tom - 19-11-2013

Yay big hammer ftw!!

I had that white ph1 DT that had a broken mount. and apart from a bit of a knock up the front (thought it was a wishbone bush) it felt funny coming off the throttle.

As you say, come off the throttle, engine tries to move a bit and the inertia creates that feel. Would be increased in a GTI due to the engine being heavier?
